Road trip from Charleston, SC to Orlando - best route?

95 for sure. But since you'll be travelling during the day, take the Jax bypass (295 East) to avoid traffic there. I also recommend taking the 417 from Sanford to Osceola Parkway to avoid the traffic mess on I 4 through Orlando. Tolls were a bit less than $8 when we drove it last week. Totally...

    Overwhelmed!

For us, resort selection is usually budget driven. We pick the resort we can comfortably afford WITHOUT a discount. If a discount comes along later, we'll try to get it. Value resorts are a no go for us, for no other reason than the double beds. Just. Can't. Do it. We usually stick with the...

there's got to be a better way

Take the 417. Get on it in Sanford. Yes, it's a toll road, but IMO, TOTALLY worth it. I 4 in Orlando has major construction going on that will continue for quite some time.

When does WDW announce 2017 packages

The discussion about BBs is moot for the OP. As a PP already said, 2017 vacation packages have been available for quite some time. But DISCOUNTS other than BBs won't be announced for months yet. OP can check Mousesavers to see when they've been announced in the past...

Coffe makers & filters in 1 and 2 bedroom villas?

If they are in a suite, not a villa, then their in room coffee will be resupplied daily. If they're club level, then they can also get their coffee in the CL lounge.

    Hollywood Studios

:confused3 Depends on what your family likes to do there, I guess. We can still fill a day there. But then we usually go back to the resort for a couple of hours in the afternoon. There's nothing that has closed that we usually spent time on, except Animation Academy.

    Hollywood Studios Special Event????

Point taken. Amended my post. I don't think that makes it more relevant to the OPs question, though.

If restaurants/meal experience isn't on dining plan

Depends. Where do you want to eat? I don't think anything at the Swolphin takes Disney GCs or charging on MBs.

    Liberty Tree Tavern dinner substitution?

Normally when a restaurant has separate lunch and dinner menus, items not on the dinner menu are put back into storage. However I believe LTT shares kitchen space with Skippers. You could ask your server if they can substitute a vegetarian or fish dish for your son. There are no direct phone...

Universe of Energy with Young Kids?

Given your feelings (bolded), you might as well skip it. 45 minutes of captivity, with no exit for an emergency potty break or a meltdown might not be a good idea.

    Hollywood Studios Special Event????

By RD most of the EMMers should have moved to their included breakfast, so there should be no impact on normal RD conditions

Disney builds stone wall on lake where Alligator....

I agree. I'm not sure how a layer of rocks less than a foot high and 4-5 feet wide could be described as a wall. I think the reporter needs a new thesaurus. Breakwater is a closer descriptive. I think it's overkill. There are numerous red and white signs warning people to stay out of the...

Logistics question related to Victoria & Albert reservation

I'd definitely do day 2. But I wouldn't try having your parents just sit at BOG while the rest of you eat your dinner. Plus, that won't give your parents much time to get ready for their own dinner. I agree with a PP - try to get a BOG ADR for lunch instead. Your parents should be able to manage...

A phone CM just confirmed my fears about September :-/

    1. You got this info from a phone CM. One step up from a bus driver on the reliability scale. 2. September has both free dining and a decent room discount offered, so of course the resorts will be filled. Off site resorts? Probably not. So that skews any park crowd projections. Full Disney...

Magic Band charge at Coral Reef with wrong PIN

No. But did it show up on your room charges? If not, I'll bet somebody else is disputing a charge at their resort front desk.

How is Tiffins about early arrivals?

Considering the reports that Tiffins is suffering from a lack of guests beating a path to their door, I doubt it will be a problem.
