    Homeschool Chat Part III

We used MFW last year and loved it! I bought the K and Adventures for my 5 and 8 year old, and yes I did have to supplement math. I started with Right Start Mathematics, but switched over to Singapore 1A for the 5 year old and 2A for the 8 year old. Also had to drop K, because cute as it was, it...

    Disney at Christmas

We did WDW in 2010 for Christmas, and it was very busy. One thing we did was go by the Disney Store before leaving and buy each child a pair of Mickey PJs and a stuffed friend. Wrapped it up fancy, put a big bow on it, and a tag that said, "To (name)- Merry Christmas, from your friend Mickey". I...

I found this comic that nails it for me. I bet it will hit close to home for many here. I'm even a redhead.

    I LOVE budget vacation planning...

I enjoy planning too. The dreaming of what could be. We buy a (single) lottery ticket when the jackpot is over 100mil for this very reason. Not so much because we think we might win, but just for the entertainment of dreaming what we would do. Reason for editing: I accidentally a word.

    Roku vs. Apple TV

Correct. Apple TV does not support Hulu. I haven't read any plans for them to add Hulu either. Given the choice, I probably would have gone Roku, but my husband is a huge Apple fanboy.

    Roku vs. Apple TV

We have AppleTV. Hulu is not supported. It's easy to use, and we use it to stream netflix a lot, as well as radio while I clean.

    Cinco de Mayo....what's for dinner??

Earlier this week we had salsa chicken with spanish rice. Sprinkle taco seasoning on both sides of the chicken breast, top with a couple tablespoons of salsa, and bake as usual. 5 minutes before its done put some shredded cheese on it. You can top with sour cream if you like, before serving.

    Ride Chicken

No one here but us chickens! :rotfl2: I have a hard time with long turns. I did test track because I was expecting quarter turns. I thought I was going to die halfway through that! Space Mountain is mostly turns, but none were unreasonable. Big Thunder had what felt like a turn and a half...

Thinking about becoming a one-car family

We are a one car family. My husband's truck died late last year, and we haven't gotten it fixed yet. I wouldn't say it saves us money. In fact, it costs us more. Its an extra downtown round trip because I have to drop him off/pick him up.

Michigan plan to make all districts school of choice!

Our district has done this for a long time. It's created an issue where some schools are grossly under capacity. This year they are consolidating the schools and shutting down 11 elementary and 2 middle schools. They are also forcing people to go back to their home schools and reapply for...

    Keen Mary Jane Sandals

I have a pair of Keen Mystics which are sort of mary jane style. I wore them through Disney World and they are my everyday shoe. I love them, but I do need to tighten the straps often as they come loose.

I took the kids after school and they were out of the Earth Day bags. They offered us any of the $2.49 marked reusable bags. I got a Mickey bag, and the boys each got PotC3 bags. Now Johnny gets to come shopping with me!
