    SSR arrival, Bell Services, etc

We arrive at SSR tomorrow for a 2 night stay ahead of our Fantasy cruise. We are not going to parks, so not planning on taking Magic Bands. We are taking Mears Shuttle from MCO to the resort. We haven’t stayed at SSR since 2009. Where will we be dropped when we get to the resort? If dropped...

    Costco Disney Gift Cards

Thanks for posting. Two orders or 2 cards worked for me. Wonder if using screenshots of the cards would work? I could keep those in Notes on my iPhone.

    Boardwalk…and 2042 for that matter…

I’ve always been interested in owning 150-200 BWV points, mostly for the festival time periods (begging the question of when there isn’t a festival). My interest in BWV started in about 2010, so this is not a new obsession. Still kicking myself for not buying back in 2010-2013 when BWV points...

How long since your last visit?

Our last DVC parks trip as a family was in July 2019. We had a 2 nights stay at AKV the night before our Disney Fantasy cruise 12/28/19-1/4/20. My wife was there the first week of March 2020 for a conference, which turned out to be a really strange experience with Covid coming to America. In...

    One bedrooms

We are a family of 3 (DS14), so we will stay in a studio for 1-2 nights pre-cruise. When we bought DVC, we bought enough points for 7 nights in a 1BR at Kidani. Of course, several spells of addonitis later and we have significantly increased our ownership to cover many more days in a 1BR. We...

Holding account and reservations starting 6/22/20

I did a chat ses with a DVC castmember via the DVC website the other day and he was very noncommittal about the reinstatement of holding accounts. I point blank asked him if he would keep the reservation past 31 day at this point in time. He made a joke about having high anxiety and not being...

Holding account and reservations starting 6/22/20

I’m with you. I’m just surprised they didn’t mention the holding point or banking rules with the most recent announcement. They seem to dot the i’s but forget to cross the t’s. You’re absolutely right. There is no doubt this won’t be the WDW experience we’re used to. But, we have a teen who is...

Holding account and reservations starting 6/22/20

Thanks for the feedback. This makes me feel better that we would probably be okay waiting, but I’ll be sure to post what I hear from MS via email. We’re probably going to push our arrival date into the future a little, but it would be nice to know more about the preview days. Thanks Sandi. Now...

Holding account and reservations starting 6/22/20

Has anyone heard if the holding account rules are going to be enforced starting June 22? We currently have a reservation for 7/5/20. We have considerEd going, but some of decision depends on the various rules With regards to the park reservation process, dining options, etc. With the lack of...

    Are you ready to go?

I voted “Have plans - waiting to see if we use them.” Although, I’m pretty sure what we’re going to do. We are due to arrive on July 6. Given the various restrictions, it just doesn’t sound like a Disney vacation to us. We have reservation at BWV, so we looking forward to walking to Epcot in...

WDW opening on July 11 and DVC Resorts June 15th (HH, VB) and June 22nd (WDW)

“We are reaching out to guests affected by these updates with additional information and details on options, including refunds.“ So, I wonder if this would include a refund on park tickets? We bought 10-day PH tickets for Spring Break and real don’t need them going forward. We have a bunch of...

WDW opening on July 11 and DVC Resorts June 15th (HH, VB) and June 22nd (WDW)

I definitely plan to reach out to them. Can’t put almost 500 points at risk. Honestly, with all of the unknowns, I’m not sure we want to drive 15 hours for this heavily restricted experience. We’ll probably cancel and save the points for next year, although about 80 are banked points that I’ll...

WDW opening on July 11 and DVC Resorts June 15th (HH, VB) and June 22nd (WDW)

I think it’s a little short-sighted and unfair not to suspend the holding account for the first few months of this gradual opening. Things are changing on very short notice, and if there is a Parks policy unacceptable or unpalatable to a member who has a reservation within 30 days, they should...

What to do with July reservation?

Could you rebook your late July trip using your June 2020 points? Then you could just bank the Sept 2019 points and use them next year. Of course, your resort/villa type might not be available to book at this point and you might lose some prime ADR’s if you cancel and rebook. I agree with...

Coronavirus and DCL Megathread - Suspension of Departures for the fleet until early November. Booking only available from early December.

I saw the announcement too. It is still open in my browser, but when I copy and paste the address in a new tab, it’s gone. Here is the PDF file that was linked on the page with the information about the extension...

To bank or not to bank? That is the question.

Annie - if you don’t think you need the points before 11/30/20, then it probably makes sense to go ahead and bank them now. We also have a December UY. We were supposed to be at WDW right now (😩), but obviously are not. We used the points to book a stay in July. We plan on watching how things...

Sailing to Alaska, what other cruise lines are as nice as Disney?

🤣. Good observation! I guess what I meant was tours that would appeal to a school-age child.

Sailing to Alaska, what other cruise lines are as nice as Disney?

We sailed on the Celebrity Solstice in June 2017 out of Seattle. Stopped at Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway with a morning at the Endicott glacier. It was a fabulous ship. We booked a Sky suite cabins with a balcony. The suite level cabins have priority boarding, private lounge (Michael’s lounge)...
