Restaurant ideas for 12 year old boy

My 12 year old son loved Coral Reef and 1900 Park Fare dinner. It didn't hurt that Cinderella asked him to dance.

Recommendations for First Night (no-reservation) Dinner?

Based on the ADR's you selected I would recommend T Rex at DS.

Fastpass plus strategy for tiered parks

First time going with FP+. At Epcot, or any other tiered park has anyone only reserved 1 FP+ in advance for an "A" ride and not included two "B" rides in hopes of getting another "A" ride right away? For example, only booking FEA with the hopes of booking Soarin or TT right after instead of...

Water parks - fill me in please!

I think both water parks are worth seeing. I personally would only do one per trip. I prefer BB over TL, especially if you have smaller children. I think BB has hands down the best lazy river I have ever been on. It really zips you along past and through really cool theming. As others have...

    What is Your Disney Quirk?

We always go straight to the food court wherever we are staying and buy our refillable mugs for the week.

Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon with kids?

We had fun at both, but for your age group I would definitely pick BB. My children thought the themeing at BB was better.

Non RD arrivals - what time?

For a 9am opening we would usually arrive around 10. Last July at MK we were able to walk on the mountains, POC, JC. I would advise using your FP+ for the fantasyland attractions as the popular ones had long stand by times by the time we arrived.

    Whispering canyon breakfast

We ate breakfast and dinner there on our last trip. Breakfast was more low key than dinner for sure. Food was very good. Not sure if it is still on the menu, but my DW got the BBQ Eggs Benedict and loved it.

    Quick service

I vote for Columbia Harbour House in MK. Had the clam chowder, shrimp basket and cobbler. Big portions and tasted great.

    Disney with autstic son

Not sure if your child has sensory issues, but the GAC is also useful in bypassing some of the more overstimulating queues. My DD12 with Autism had a complete meltdown in the TSM queue. It was only a 20 min wait (believe it or not) and she freaked about 10 minutes in. I think there was just...

    Downtown Disney dining with kids?

Another vote for T-Rex. Good food and a lot of fun. It can get pretty loud and some of the dinosaurs are scary to young children. Not sure how old your kids are so just make sure they will be ok before you go.

    Akershus Epcot

We have eaten here the last 4 times we visited and 3 of those times Belle was the princess that you got your picture with in the beginning and 1 time it was sleeping beauty. So odds are you will get a picture with Belle but I don't know if you should gaurantee she will be there. And yes the...

Would you move to FL for Disney?

My wife and I seriously considered moving to central Florida for the same reason. We were not overly concerned with the bugs, hurricanes or heat. What detered us after doing a ton of research were the horror stories of all the crime happening right oustide the World and in the surrounding...

Why does Amercia lose when it comes to paid Maternity leave?

Here in New Jersey the state gives a 70% benefit for up to 6 weeks for maternity and paternity. We pay for it through a small payroll tax. I believe a few other states(New York and California, if I'm not mistaken) offer a similar program as well. It's not 50 weeks, but it's something.

    Autistic Girlfriend

Sorry if it has already been posted. Wispering Canyon Cafe has a small area in the back for folks that do not want to be a part of the action. Very quiet and secluded.

worst food you ever had @ WDW?

The only thing I ate that I did not like was the grilled shrimp at Ohanas. Tasted less than fresh.

    Unexpected character fear

On our first trip to Disney we had the dinning plan and many character meals planned. Our first was at 1900 PF for breakfast. We sat at the table and met Mary Popping which was great. Then out of the corner of my son's eye he saw Pooh and Tigger on the other side of the restaurant and he...

    TREX Best place to sit?

To me it seems the farther from the entrance the quiter it is, so I would ask to sit in the Herbivore section. I personally love the action and noise so we like to sit in the Carnivore or Ice Room.

    Summer Discounts Help!

From what I have researched there is a 30% off room discount until 6/14 and FD goes into effect 8/25. Does anyone based on past history have any idea if any other discount may be announced to cover from 6/15 to 8/24? If so, what is your best guess.
