Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

What kind of food/beverages can be purchased in the gift shop? Flying for this trip and would love to have some quick snack/breakfast foods in the room to help us in the mornings? We have stayed at POFQ before but not for five years and we've never gone in the gift shop. TIA!

    FP reservations and dining reservations

I apologize in advance if this question has been answered a million times, but I haven't been able to find an answer. What are the time constraints for Fastpasses with regards to dining reservations? Example: If I have a lunch reservation at 12:30, what is the latest Fastpass I can schedule...

Spring Break when not with Easter

We found last year that late May was more crowded than we expected, but it also coincided with Memorial Day. And given that it was also pretty hot, we thought maybe trying for March might help with that. I am ok with crowds but I am just hopeful to avoid Christmas or Thanksgiving type crowds...

Spring Break when not with Easter

Hello! I am just starting to think about our next trip. We have been twice, once in mid June and once in late May. Our preference is to avoid taking our kids out of school, especially as our oldest is moving into the older grades. I am thinking about a Spring Break, probably for 2020. We are...

Anyone Redeem eGiftCard at the Parks?

We had printouts, as we thought it would be easier to keep track of which kid's was which. But when we had trouble we pulled up the email and both cards showed a balance of 0. The other ecards we had printouts and they worked fine. The person who sent them sent printouts rather than emails.

Anyone Redeem eGiftCard at the Parks?

We had some trouble with this this week. My kids each had a separate ecard as a gift from their aunt. My son spent some of his at Disney Springs building his own light saber, and had a balance. My daughter went to use hers in Germany and her balance was the same as what my son's leftover balance...

    MK morning thoughts

Thanks for the suggestions! I think we are in good shape for what we want to do. The Tiana/Rapunzel meet is definitely not a "must do" but it would be nice. Our ADR is at 8:30. I have been unable to get it any earlier, but we are planning to get there as early as we can anyway. The reason we...

    MK morning thoughts

I am thinking about our Magic Kingdom day - Tuesday May 30. Travel party is myself, husband, daughter age 11, son age 8. We have been once before, pre magic bands and fast pass plus. We have fastpasses in the afternoon for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan, and Enchanted Tales With Belle. Our...

    Counter Service at Hollywood Studios

I am trying to figure out what counter service is decent at Hollywood Studios. We have Fastpasses for Tower of Terror around lunch time, and it is likely that neither my son nor my husband will end up riding. We were thinking that they could go find someplace for us to eat and maybe get in line...

    FP+ newbie questions

Thanks for the answers. I agree that Primevil Whirl is more intense than TOT, but everybody has their own reasons for not wanting to ride something. My son/husband may change their minds about any of it, and are ok with booking the FP just in case. As for making FP for Animal Kingdom, we...

    FP+ newbie questions

Our Fastpass+ window opens up on Wednesday. I am new to FP+ - our first and only trip was just before they started rolling it out. I am very anxious about this and crossing my fingers that it works out. I do have a couple of questions. I will be traveling with my husband, my daughter (11), and...

    Magic Kingdom strategies

Our first trip is coming up very soon! We'll be there in about two weeks. We think we have mapped out our general strategy (priority attractions) in each park except Magic Kingdom. We are trying to figure out what our priorities should be and we thought you folks might have suggestions. We...

Port Orleans Riverside Q&A Thread 2013, Part One [Thread now FULL and closed]

Hi everyone! We are excited for our first trip to WDW this June. I just was able to take advantage of the summer discount for Disney Visa card holders. It wasn't available for standard room views, but we were able to upgrade to a garden view and still save money (we booked through AAA). We are...

    The "Official" June 2013 Thread

I just booked our trip for June 14-21! We'll be staying in POR. It's the first trip for all of us - me, husband, and my two kids, who will be 7 (girl) and 4 (boy) by then! So excited! Husband has been to Disneyland and Tokyo Disney as a child but none of us have been to WDW!

The Countdown to 2013 - Join me! List Started!

How many character meals is too many?

We're still planning a trip way, way in the future (2013). But it's still fun to make an ideal list of ADR's I'd like to make. As a background, it will be all of our first (and maybe only) trip, so we'd like to do everything we can. My children will be 7 (girl) and 4 (boy) at the time of the...

Waiting 3 years for WDW but want to go NOW!

We're in the same boat... DD is almost 5 and DS is almost 2. We're aiming for 2013 so they'd be 7 and 4. It's partly for their ages, partly financial, and partly to wait until Fantasyland is done! We might just end up breaking down and going next year, though.:yay:

New to the boards... and Disney!

Hi! I'm new here. I am almost 35 and I have never been to any Disney park. I had never even thought much about it until my daughter (almost 5) went wild for princesses. So now we're planning a family vacation to Disney World in 2013 (a ways away, I know). At that time, my daughter will be 7...
