Canadian website prices...different from US Site?

We book our stuff on the US site with our USD credit card. I first noticed this when we were booking a Carnival cruise last year- the Canadian Website that offered prices in CAD and charged to credit cards in CAD was significantly more money than the US site. The websites haven't caught up...

USD Bank Accounts and Credit Cards

Just to add a little info: BMO is doing a trial run in 4 branches of an ATM that will dispense common foreign currencies (USD, Euro, Pound Sterling), and if the trial is successful, the machines may be rolled out nation-wide. I'm crossing my fingers that I will be able to withdraw from my...

Dreams Take Flight - Toronto, May 11

Hi from DTF-YYC! As you can see from my handle, I am a volunteer here in Calgary, went to DLR in 2009 and 2010, hoping to go again this year also. Hope your trip goes well - ours is scheduled for October. Allie

    First Trip

If you want warm weather, it would be rolling the dice for Feb/Mar. My trip in March this year and February last year was warm, but not pool weather warm. I guess if you were in a hotel that had a heated pool, it would be a different story. Of course coming from Massachusetts (did I spell...

CDN Credit Cards at US gas pumps

We ran into the same issues in California last year. We have a USD Mastercard, so getting the refund wasn't that bad when I overestimated how much gas we needed. Will have to remember the zip code thingy for our next trip. We've had problems using our debit card in the States too, they only...

    Traveling with visually impaired son

When interacting with a character, make sure to let the character or the handler know that your child is visually impaired, they normally will take an extra few minutes to allow the child to feel the characteristics of the costume (especially the face) and will try to get as close as possible...

Flying for the 1st time in years...Will I fit???

I'll second the previous posts, especially the one about bulk head seats and the tray tables. I am size 22/24 and I can barely manage those tables that fold out of the arm rest. Also, the tables in the arm also mean that the arm rests are not moveable. On our last flight, (a few weeks ago) as...

Quality Inn & Suites Anaheim at the Park

We have stayed at Quality Inn on Manchester twice - I was happy with the hotel, especially compared to some hotels I have paid more money for. Don't expect a fancy hotel - it is actually a motel style hotel - all rooms open to outdoor courtyards. The rooms are a decent size - last year we...

First Time to Disneyland - Service for Deaf people?

I am a deaf Disneyland go-er so I can pass on my words of wisdom - We also contacted Disneyland for interpretation schedule two weeks prior to the trip - didn't hear a word back and have filed a complaint re: this. Disneyland now offers set interpretation schedules (I believe Sat/Mon at...

How many days is the perfect amount of time for Disneyland?

I have been twice during a slower "off" season and I still have yet to experience some attractions (mind you I do some of my favourite attractions multiple times). First official trip was three days and I had a list of about 14 attractions I hadn't set foot near at the end of the three days...

    Quality Inn on Katella

If the breakfast at Quality Inn on Katella is anything like the breakfast at Quality Inn on Manchester, expect make-your-own-waffles, bread and English muffins with a toaster device, hard boiled eggs, danishes, donuts, three kinds of cereal, milk, juice and coffe/tea. We filled up plenty in...

    Disneyland Virgin!

Congrats on your first trip to Disneyland - I was hooked after my first trip! We have stayed at Quality Inn on Manchester - a little further than I like, but for the price - worth it. Their breakfast has make your own waffles, toast, english muffins, hardboiled eggs, danishes, donuts and...

    Disneyland: Deaf Awareness Day

The handheld captioning thing is ok - it takes a few ride throughs to master and even then, the info goes so quickly, you end up reading the whole time and not looking at anything. I rode through Pirates of the Caribbean with it and the first time I didn't look up from the screen once, the...

    Disneyland: Deaf Awareness Day

Just by coincidence/miracle, my hubby and I planned to visit DLR March 2-5, and March 5 is Deaf Awareness Day. I am considered deaf by medical terms, but I can hear a little and rely heavily on lipreading. I always miss out on information/spiels that are said through loudspeakers since they...

    Two things left to do...

we did supershuttle - not too bad except the guy organizing passengers at LAX was really rude. Drivers were pretty good. Some of their vans are showing age - we tipped $7-$10 (depended on what I had in my wallet at the time :rolleyes1:) and we only had two carry-on sized pieces.

No refillable mugs at DL resorts?

we tried to get free refills this week (march 2-5) and the lady said they don't refill anymore - maybe it was just the one person?

possible Rivers of America problem (could affect Fantasmic!)

Thank goodness my hubby and I saw it on Friday night - we had a pretty good view that was partly blocked so we planned to see it again on Saturday night... we were soo disappointed that we couldn't see it again with an unobstructed (is that even a word?) view, but grateful we saw what we could...

    Carry-On Only Pointers Please

Hubby and I just got back from a 5 night trip (four full days) to DLR using only carryons - words of wisdom (haven't read the whole thread so sorry for any repeats): 1. Leave room for souveniers or limit yourself to small ones (pins and smashed pennies work well for this) 2. We brought two...
