    Victoria and Albert's?

I would do V&A's. It is now officially the best restaurant in Orlando, and they are definitely more willing to work with picky eaters/allergies than B&B's, in my experience. I don't eat seafood except shrimp, and V&A's has bent over backwards to make sure I had choices for each course that I...

The reservations are finalized! What should we order?

Citrico's - I love the shrimp appetizer so much that I usually get it as an entree, with angel hair pasta added to it to make it a meal. I could eat bowls of that and be happy for life. Biergarten - literally everything I've tried here (which was pretty much everything served) I love...

Deciding on what to order months in advance

Though now that I'm a local and rarely make ADRs, when I do have to make them for weekends I know will be busy, etc., I tend to go for places where there's more than one option I would love to have, and especially if there is at least one lighter option and one heavier option. I agree with you...

Do you see animals when it's cold?

We stayed Savannah view at AKL-KV this past January, when it was pretty cold, and we saw tons of animals at all hours of the day. The cattle were even out chilling on our side sleeping a few nights in a row (which surprised me, since on previous visits, they tended to stick to the far stretches...

I got my 40th Anniversary shirt today

MonkeyPants, I'd call back to the Disney Store. I had the same issue with my women's shirt (received tracking info, but it matched to nothing, and still no shirt), and they finally found that package and rerouted it to me (got here today... a month after ordering it, awesome!!). The men's...

    D23 Magic & Merriment - Anyone going?

Having never had the opportunity to experience most of the "quintessential" Disney Christmas experiences in the same weekend (or even the same holiday season!), and also never having done a previous year's M&M event, I am *beyond* excited to go to this year's event. I am going to the 11/12th...

    Best Disney Restaurant. Period.

Gotta say, my next three after V&A's (since it is hands-down my favorite restaurant period, not just at Disney) would be: 1. Artist Point 2. Jiko 3. California Grill (and up until the addition of the bison dish recently, this would not have made my list - love the view, hate the atmosphere...

The weather this weekend in the world!!! :)

I leave tomorrow after work to meet my best friend from college for her FIRST VISIT! EEEEEEE! So excited. She's from the Northeast, and has never been to FL, so she was really not looking forward to highs in the high 80s (and I gotta say, I have been ready for summer to be over here for a few...

    Epcot on Halloween?

The only concern I'd have is that Hanson is the Eat to the Beat concert that night, which will undoubtedly bring out some crowds... other than that, I would think it would be a pretty good day for Epcot :) Have fun!!

Contempo Cafe or Roaring Fork for CS breakfast??? Or Downtown Disney at WPE, EoS, PC?

Honestly, while the food is OK at Contempo (mostly the same old stuff as other CS places, and still sitting in heated pans, just out of view of the guests :) ), the service is freaking awful at best, IMO... last time I ate there, it took them 20 minutes to get me a turkey sandwich during lunch...

My videos from the 40th Anniversary (ceremony, fireworks, etc..)

I felt so bad for the CMs working Uptown Jewelers when the park opened... it was a disastuh of epic proportions... Black Friday didn't even begin to describe it (and in some ways, it was even worse with some people who felt they were entitled to not have to wait in line because they were buying...

Do resort occupants get first "dibs"?

CMs will often ask whether you are staying at that resort (or any resort) for one of two reasons: research purposes (do people tend to eat more often at their 'home' resort, etc), or because there is a special treat for that resort's guests (AKL guests who eat at Jiko usually get an amuse...

Best places to eat at Hollywood Studios? Deluxe dining plan

Pretty much the only place I would even consider would be Brown Derby. Another option (if you have the time) would be to hop over to Epcot or a Boardwalk resort on the boats.

Jiko - New Chef? What's on the menu?

Menu has not changed significantly (read: other than seasonal veggies, etc., normal things at a restaurant) since the old chef left on the 9th. I'm going to try again this weekend to get a walkup (this past weekend, I was, rather strangely, unsuccessful), so hopefully, I'll be able to report...

allergies in Orlando this time of year???

It actually was fine for me for the past few months up until Monday of this week, and now, my head and sinuses feel like they are going to explode 24/7. Hopefully whatever is blooming now causing this awfulness dies down soon, for both our sakes!

Jiko and Boma almost the same price?!

TBH, I often eat at Jiko for *cheaper* than Boma, just by getting a flatbread, an app, and a dessert (which is PLENTY of food for one person), and sometimes even a glass of wine. It depends on what you want, food-wise, really.

    Dissapointing Boma & Jiko

The peri peri is pretty close to the original, but I'm jaded since I've seen so many people order plain chicken/as generic/stripped down dishes as they can the past few times I've been, so it's just been super disheartening (especially as a former picky eater!). And if the cape malva pudding...

    Limoncello?

It's also served at the Cali Grill... had it with their lemon trio dessert mmm mmm mmm!

    Dissapointing Boma & Jiko

FWIW, the executive chef at Jiko is leaving at the end of this week, so there may very well be changes on the horizon there. I tend to stick to the more exotic offerings on their menu (wild boar, the buffalo/pork boerewere sausage flatbread, etc.) and have never found fault, but the more...

    Foamy Yachtsmen Steak

I ate there Saturday and had the NY Strip - there's no foam on that, just the regular brandy peppercorn sauce. My server also said that I could sub out any sauce, so I'm sure you can ask for no foam. Also, if you let the foam sit for a while, it falls apart anyways and just turns into a thin...
