OCD/phobia of dolls in 9 year old

:goodvibes Thanks! It may have been something on tv that started this. He does get easy frightened, has even been afraid of episodes of cartoons like Phineas and Ferb that were too scary. The thing that worries me is that he is avoiding things that dolls touch, that he thinks they are...

OCD/phobia of dolls in 9 year old

My 9 year old son (10 in July) told me that he wanted to tell me a secret. In tears, he told me that he could not sleep in his bed "because it's contaminated". He said that his little sister's doll had touched his bed, and the doll had contaminated the sheets. I questioned him further...

Walgreens & my bank stopped my cc thief!

:thumbsup2 I shopped at Target just before and just after the "danger" period where the credit card numbers were stolen, but *just in case* our bank has been keeping a close eye on all credit card purchases. Yesterday, someone tried to use a fake, plastic credit card with MY credit card...

    Facebook Friends of Friends privacy?

Thanks everyone! I double checked, and all of my albums are set to "friends only" :thumbsup2 I had a friend who had 1000+ photos on her computer from 2012 when her hard drive crashed. She sent the hard drive to one of those places that recovers the data, but they were unable to recover the...

    Facebook Friends of Friends privacy?

Yikes. I'll have to remember to post things to friends only from now on. I wonder if I can go back and change photo albums and old posts? It would be easier to just check a box in a main menu that says only my friends can see my status and photos like you could do back in the old days :)...

    Facebook Friends of Friends privacy?

Does anyone know if there is still an option to NOT let friends of friends see your facebook posts/photos/status? The privacy settings use to be much more detailed and simpler to use. Since the changes, I no longer see the option to block friends of friends, unless I'm missing something?

Your best friend as a kid, where are they now

Mine still lives in the town we grew up in. We are both in our early 40's and were as close as sisters growing up. We grew apart when we turned 18 and went different paths. For a few years, she ignored my facebook friend request. I was quite hurt. She finally accepted, but ignored me...

What age would you let your kids go to the park alone?

A 9 year old? No way. I have 6 kids, from the ages 3 to 21. It's my goal to get them to adulthood without being abused, and that means they are not allowed to go to the park without adult supervision until they are about 13. Over the summer in our city, a 10 year old was found in the...

No home buyers? 29 dom-no showings in 23 days UPDATE post 15

:goodvibes All of your pixie dust must be working--guess who finally returned my call? lol Apparently there is a couple who is interested. They have been spending this week doing due dilligence with the city to see how many lots they can get out of the land. (we have some acreage) He and...

No home buyers? 29 dom-no showings in 23 days UPDATE post 15

The feedback we have had was that the bedrooms were too small. That's not something we can fix easily though. We have the house packed and ready to move with boxes stored in a storage shed, and everyone comments on how spotlessly clean the house is. We had a brokers open, all other agents...

No home buyers? 29 dom-no showings in 23 days UPDATE post 15

Thanks everyone for the reassurance! Never imagined selling would be so stressful! We tend to stay in our homes for many, many years, so this is only the 2nd we have sold. Our first house sold in 5 days for full asking price (in '99) so this lack of interest was very concerning for us. I am...

No home buyers? 29 dom-no showings in 23 days UPDATE post 15

HELP! Our house has been on the market for 29 days. We had 5 showings in the first 6 days, and then absolutely nothing from that point on. We are also having issues with our agent not returning our calls or e-mails. This agent only has one other house listed, so I know that it's not an...

How do you teach an Asp kid to drive?

We recently went through this with DS18 and DD20. DS is an Aspie, DD has severe anxiety, to the point that it's disabling to her. For both of them, it took a long, long time being behind the wheel. Both of my kids sound like your son. Whenever Dh or I would tell them how a near accident...

3 Targets for one TOY SALE!!

Target clearance was awesome in my area until about 3 years ago. Now I see racks and racks of clothes that sit for months at 30% off. Same with toys, housewares and health/beauty. :confused3 Not sure what happened. They just stopped doing the 75%-90% off. In fact, I haven't seen even 50% off...

    Park Hopper pass regrets?

It was such a hassle for us to unfold strollers, carry all of our gear while holding strollers and managing kids, and then waste the time going back and forth between parks. We only used our hopper once during our 2004 trip and we didn't get it at all on our 2nd trip last year.

Need tips/info about possibly relocating to the Orlando area

Check out http://www.city-data.com/forum/orlando/ I think your parents could get the house that they want in that price range, but being in a good school at that price range might not be possible.

    More stroller questions...glider boards? Parking?

I would only bring 2 doubles. Take the idea that the older kids will have a stroller to ride in off the table for them or they will expect it :) Let them know that they are "big kids now" and that they can walk. Our 6yo is a big-time complainer when it comes to walking--especially at...
