Spa or Manicure Services for Kids?

A "Princess" mani and/or pedi is available for kids in the Vista Salon (not spa) on the Wonder and Magic. It's not advertised, and you have to ask for it at the salon on board. It is a huge treat for the young 'uns. My 10 yo daughter was the only child in the salon when Pluto arrived (and tried...

The Wonder has Set Sail the "correct" way

Nope, I could actually see it quite clearly from my house; it's not that far away. I just don't have a good camera....:confused3 Watching cruise ships sail past is one of my favourite summer activities. Charlene

The Wonder has Set Sail the "correct" way

I took a few, but it was cloudy, and you'd have to do some pretty serious squinting to see her. However, she looked great just sailing past. I told my servers on the 3/20 MR cruise, Miguel and Nyoman, that I'd be waving at them when they go by. Hope early dinner was done by that time! :laughing...

The Wonder has Set Sail the "correct" way

And, at long last, the Wonder sailed past my house at 7:30 PDT. Yay!!!! :cool1:

Cruising Alaska from Seattle a letdown?

Ithasca, you don't say where you live. I live on the east side of Vancouver Island, and can tell you without doubt that visibility is still great at 9 pm at the current time. Around the summer solstice, the sun only sets after 9:30 pm! As the Wonder apparently sets sail at 5 pm, that gives...

    Booking Teen Spa Services

On the Wonder and Magic you can book a Princess Mani/Pedi for children and teens in the Vista Salon. These are not advertised, and must be booked on board. They are great fun, though. Wonder and Magic does not offer massage for kids/teens as fas as I know. My 10 yo daughter had this on the...

    Questions for early Alaskan cruisers!

High summer in Alaska is not that cold!!!! When I went on an Alaska cruise in late July, I only wore a jacket once; in Glacier Bay. Remember, this is not the arctic. Disney has blankets on the decks of the Wonder (even on their MR cruises). Hot chocolate is always available at the soda and...

    Oh My Waves in Alaska

No storms in "our" Inside Passage the past months. In fact, 2-3 storms per year, all in mid-winter. Amen! I'm not even going on one of these cruises, but it means a lot to me. Like you, Cerberus, I want others to share this little corner of paradise we call home. If you've never experienced...

    Questions for early Alaskan cruisers!

That is the simplest and best explanation I've heard so far. Now if Disney would post that tidbit on their website, I would be as happy as a clam. From Charlene (living in my frozen igloo on the east coast of Vancouver Island, just a couple of inukshuks away from the icy southern Inside...

    Oh My Waves in Alaska

But Cerberus, there is! My pet polar bear always goes traipsing all over the ice floes and tracking the stuff into my igloo on Lantzville beach! :rotfl2: Charlene

    Oh My Waves in Alaska

Honestly, I cannot see where anyone has been jumping to conclusions about the whole season on these threads. We're musing, which is one of the nice features of the DIS boards.

Inside Passage - 2011 Alaska Cruise?

There's data and then their is real life. I have not seen the sun rise at 4:30 this year, and yes, I do get up early. Sunrise can be 4:30 for a few days around the summer solstice. As for sunset, it's really late. a ship leaving at 5 pm will have at least four hours of daylight sailing. Less...

    Questions for early Alaskan cruisers!

Well, I live along this route, so "official" info aside, I know for certain that, with the ship sailing at about 5:00 pm, there is much more daylight going out than coming back. I have not seen the sun rise that early this year yet (and yes, I wake up early).

    Oh My Waves in Alaska

No, that's not really the issue. The issue is that the DCL website clearly shows the 2011 itinerary take the inside route there and back, and more than a few people booked their cruises based on this fact. Disney should have been much clearer about the route the were going to take right from the...

Please visit our Cruise Meet thread!

Yes, Tidefan and I chatted about it, and I've asked for the threads to be merged. Tidefan's thread didn't have many takers either, which is why the invite/plea on the open forum. Charlene

Inside Passage - 2011 Alaska Cruise?

I have done a seven day Inside Passage Cruise to Alaska before (on a less modern, slower ship). We puttered there and back, and still had plenty of time to do three ports as well as Glacier Bay. So far, I have not really heard an explanation that makes sense.

Inside Passage - 2011 Alaska Cruise?

And of course it's even darker on the southward passage back to Vancouver.... so dark cannot plausibly have anything to do with it. (I know; I live here). Charlene
