DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

70% is based on total DAS party size, not on 8% of DAS visitors. What makes these numbers "impossible"? It is not the single DAS users that are using the capacity. It is the DAS parties of 4, 5, 6 or even larger that use up the capacity.

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Yes, I think it is really important to take the total number of guests attached to the DAS rider. I believe Disney's numbers say there are somewhere around 8-10% of their daily guests on a DAS. That seems very reasonable. However, if each DAS guest is a memeber of a party of 4 or 5, now 40-50%...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Correct. That is the other side of it. They could not increase the number of guests allowed in the park. It would be massively expensive and would most likely turn visiting Disney into a $500 per person a day experience with Annual Passes starting in the $10,000. Disney would be a truly "once in...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I am not talking adding a single ride. I am talking adding 7+ additional rides, increasing the park footprint and most importantly NOT increasing overall park capacity. It is a supply and demand issue. There is not enough ride capacity for all the people in the park. The only way to fix it is...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Although it would never happen without a serious increase in shops, walkways and shows, how would people feel if every ride was a virtual queue? So that you scanned in and they told you when to come back? What if that meant the average guest rode one ride every 90 minutes? For those that are...

    Disappointed

I wouldn't be posting to Instagram and Twitter about how great of a time I was having on my vacation. No issue with going on the trip, but why post anything? Not everything has to be about promoting your travel agency. And quite frankly this type of behavior makes me think the mindset of...

    Disappointed

Or, he could have reached out to Justin and not find out from a message board. He is the owner of a multimillion dollar company. He has a responsibility to his employees, because as each day goes by their livelihood is at further risk. But go ahead and post on Instagram. I am sure Disney is...

Accurate subtitles and/or transcripts for the podcasts?

I think they would be happy to accept volunteers to contribute to this. My guess is there is just too much on their plate with such a small staff to transcribe all their content.

    Should reliance on tipping stop?

I think one key takeaway is a number (not all) service workers are not properly reporting their wages + tips to the IRS. Even if they just "pocket" the cash tips and report the credit card tips, this could still average out to an extra $5 an hour over a few weeks. If tipping goes away, that...

How to make one time donation to Patreon

Ongoing subscriptions are literally the point of Patreon. Otherwise people could just put up a PayPal button with a Donate Now link. And by doing this they wouldn't have to give Patreon it's cut. There are many people who are able to make content creation their full time job because they know...

How to make one time donation to Patreon

The point of Patreon is to give content creators sustainable monthly income. This allows them to focus on creating content and not worrying about how they are going to pay their bills that month.

    Bored at Disney Parks

Hold on... are you saying you want to bring a gun into the parks because they may you so angry? Why are you letting what other people do bother you so much? You're there for vacation, relax and enjoy it!

Is Jan a good time to visit WDW?

There are no longer any times where it isn't too crowded. It basically swings between "pretty busy" to "unbelievably crowded". Disney has done a good job at creating demand during times of the year when there previously was no demand. Even in January with marathon weekend, it can be busy.

Review: The Muppets “Pig Girls Don’t Cry (Pilot)”

I guess I am in the minority, but I like it. I appreciate they are trying to make the Muppets relevant today.

Does anyone else expect a "rant" in this coming weeks show?

But since you'll still visit and pay the upcharge why shouldn't there be blackout dates? Disney knows they have you so they'll continue to raise prices. The cigarette analogy is perfect. I would make a wager that within 5 years that top end pass will be at least 50% higher. Disney is happy...

Does anyone else expect a "rant" in this coming weeks show?

Kevin, I completely agree with your post. Given this I am curious as to why you took it so seemingly personally when hydroflask changed their business model. Isn't it somewhat similar?

Does anyone else expect a "rant" in this coming weeks show?

They already have existing members money already booked to previous financials. The annual maintenance fees are supposed to go back to keeping up the DVC properties. So, while it is true that DVC members paid the most, as far as future revenue is concerned they are no different than any other...

    The Great 'Throwaway Room' Debate

As far as I know that is not how this works at all. I believe you only get Magic Bands and Fast Pass privileges when you purchase park tickets. So if you wanted to buy 10 7 day tickets, then yes, you could have multiple fast passes. But Disney would love that extra revenue and would have no...

    The Great 'Throwaway Room' Debate

I just don't see how it is stealing. If someone wants to pay for 10 park hopper tickets and use them for their family of 5 so that they have double the Fast Pass+ reservations, Disney would have no problem with it. In fact, they basically sell that experience via VIP tours and some of their...

    The Great 'Throwaway Room' Debate

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. You are still paying for the tickets. If Magic Bands were tied to length of stay, can you imagine what a nightmare it would be for people that do split stays at multiple resorts on property? Good luck keeping everything in sync. All Disney cares about...
