There are private parking lots within a mile or so of the port. If you go to cruisecritic.com and search I know they turn up. They have free shuttles to and from the ship.

Santee SC is a good place to stop but it is on I-95 north of I-26 (which is what you take out of Columbia when I-77 ends). There are a couple of campgrounds right off of 77 above and below Rock Hill SC. Not much below Columbia until you get further down 95 to Walterboro then Savannah Ga.
