    Back of the boat???

I have seen that some people complain about fumes in these rooms...how bad is it on the new ships?

    Kennedy Space Center?

Hmm. I don't know - 4 years old, it might get boring. It all depends on how long you expect to stay there. When we were there in 3/11, my DD was 8 and had a blast and wished we could have stayed longer, but DW was getting bored. :rotfl2:

    Is higher better? Deck differences

Here's the Magic.. Yes, the lifeboats to go out further, but remember they are MUCH larger than the ones on Magic/Wonder because the ship is that much larger. There are 20 lifeboats on Magic/Wonder and only 16 on Dream/Fantasy.

Sorry should have (also) quoted fsugirl - it looked to me as if you were agreeing with her.

Before you cancel, call DU and see what they can do for you - they might be able to work it for you...never hurts to ask.

Purely Hypothetical - 2 days after cruise - WWYD?

I would spend them at NASA...but then I, RedWife, and RedGirl are all big science\space geeks. :thumbsup2 And, YES, there is THAT much to see there that you could spend two days and still not experience it all.

    Adults Only?

When RedWife and I were on the Wonder for our 5th anniversary (10/1999 - well before RedGirl was around) we had a great kid-less trip and commented many times - if it wasn't for dinner in the main restaurants, the show each evening and the movie theater, we would have sworn there weren't any...

How much of a cushion needed for taxis back to the boat on excursions?

It all depends on how far from the ship you go. Also, you never know what could happen on your way back - the cab could get a flat tire. If the time to pull the gangplank comes and you are not there (unless, as mmouse said, you are on a DCL excursion) they WILL leave without you. When we...

    Is higher better? Deck differences

I still have a hard time understanding how you say deck 9 overlooks deck 8 - I thought I was remembering incorrectly, so I had to find an old thread with pictures to prove that my memory WASN'T failing. Look in this thread... The only floor whose verandas are seen from above along the side...

    To surprise or not?!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=45655160#post45655160 We planned our trip almost a year in advance but rather than having to field questions from our DD (7 at the time) we held off on telling her until Christmas (three months before the cruise). I found (through the DCL website...

    Is higher better? Deck differences

Not sure what part of deck 8/9 you are referring to. I was mid-ship on the Dream's deck 8 (8064) and didn't have that issue. (But we could clearly see the veranda's on deck 5 behind the lifeboats...)

Saving chairs on Carnival - I think not!

Or a variation on a cubby - small lockers (8x8x8) that can be activated by your keycard at a central station (like can be found at amusement parks).

Best way to Port Canaveral from Universal?

I know Disney has shuttles from MCO and Disney properties, but what is the best (and cheapest) way to get to the port from Universal? I am starting to do some price planning for a trip and trying to figure out the best way to get there since we won't be going to WDW this time around.

Cool ways to tell kids about cruise?

We planned our trip almost a year in advance but rather than having to field questions from our DD (7 at the time) we held off on telling her until Christmas (three months before the cruise). I found (through the DCL website at that time) paper models for Mickey and the cruise ship. I got...

Are the Dream restaurants all you can eat?

Every night of our cruise I ordered the dessert sampler (small versions of the four desserts) after the second night of doing that, our server knew what I was going to do. The final night he said, "I've got something special planned tonight." He brought me out the sampler plate, but with all...
