OK, but who is Tony Hinds?

Tony picked us up from the airport yesterday and everything went perfectly. Super nice guy too. I'm very happy with the service so far. He'll be transferring us to Universal on Wednesday and taking us back to the airport on Saturday so I'll update further.

    Inclement Weather

What is the best place to get the most up to date, accurate forecast? I feel like sites like the Weather Channel don't do as well as local weather stations.

    Inclement Weather

We're very much a make-the-best-of-it family and plan on going with the flow and making the best of if, but my anxiety makes me plan for the worst and hope for the best. We're arriving tomorrow and our first park day is Saturday. This is my first experience with tropical weather as I've never...

    Checking Into Your Throwaway Room

Thank you! Where do you pick up the boat at? I'm not familiar at all with CityWalk or the resorts but I've been cruising around on Google Maps to familiarize myself, lol. From the looks of it, there's not an exceptional amount of things at Universal Studios that we make us want to be there the...

Anti-Rope Drop plans - any tips?

Do wait times really drop significantly in the later hours before close? We don't plan on doing any of the evening entertainment at the parks (if any of it is back - I haven't looked into it at all since it's not in our plans) so I was hoping to take advantage of shorter lines during those times...

Anti-Rope Drop plans - any tips?

Just strategy tips for touring and maximizing your day for those who aren't planning on taking advantage of rope dropping the rides. We'd still like to ride as many rides as possible while waiting in lines as little as possible (like the rest of the world, lol) but don't want to be crashing the...

I love credit cards so much! v5.0 - 2022 (see first page for add'l details)

I feel like I'm stepping in the middle of the Cool Kids Club that has been in existence since kindergarten and here we are in 8th grade with me trying to worm my way in. So.... here goes. We've had a SW card for a decade or so (possibly a little more). We got it with the intention of...

    Checking Into Your Throwaway Room

We're booked at Surfside for 3 nights with 2 park days for our family of 5 but also have one night booked at Portofino for the EPs. We'll be checking into SS on Wednesday, doing US on Thursday and IOA on Friday. I'll need to check into Portofino Thursday to get our EPs for Thursday & Friday. We...

Anti-Rope Drop plans - any tips?

My family of 5 are late risers. CAN we get up to be at the parks for rope drop? Sure. After all, my oldest starts school at 7:30am. We're definitely capable of getting up and getting moving if we're absolutely forced to. We just don't want to. Especially not on our vacation. So I'm beginning to...

OK, but who is Tony Hinds?

To give you a rough idea, MCO to POR, POR to Endless Summer, Endless Summer to MCO over the course of 8 days for a family of 5 + luggage was quoted at $210. Considering the fare for us on Sunshine Flyer to and from MCO was going to be over $150 and it wouldn't be door-to-door direct and we'd...

OK, but who is Tony Hinds?

I booked him this morning and told DH all about him - he's a small business that started back in the 90s as a driver for a larger transportation company and then struck out on his own. And surprise, surprise, DH LOVES the idea and is all about it - wanting to support small business and the...

OK, but who is Tony Hinds?

I've seen so many good reviews on here about Tony's transportation services so I went ahead and emailed him for our trip. He replied really promptly and I thought the price was reasonable ($210 for MCO to POR, POR to Endless Summer, Endless Summer to MCO) so I'm ready to go ahead and book. But...

Can a plan w/ no rope drops work?

Did you close out HS that day? I'm wondering what lines were like at close. I was thinking of going for Smuggler's Run, MMRR & ToT using G+ for whatever times we could get, doing shows and the lower wait time rides in the afternoon/early evening and then focusing on ROTR and SDD closer to close...

Can a plan w/ no rope drops work?

Family of 5 (DH, I, kids 13/9/9) and are not early risers. While we COULD haul ourselves out of bed to be at rope drop, we just don't WANT to. We're staying on property and will have G+ but don't plan on doing any $ILL. Could a later arrival (10ish) with plans to close out the park work? I plan...

Have You Ever Gotten Sick From a Disney Restaurant?

Last trip at Earl of Sandwich. It was the first and only time I've gotten salmonella and I never want to repeat the experience. It hit about 24 hours later & I knew it was the culprit because it was the only meal in about 72 hours that I had something different from the rest of my family. I...

Kids menu choices - anything but mac & cheese or chicken strips!

We'll be doing both QS and ADRs. I'm finding QS harder to find variety though. :/

The Genie Usage, Tips and Strategy ONLY Thread

I appreciate the advice. Any other sage wisdom? We have all prioritized our rides and know that things have changed (and that the parks are busier) and we're likely not going to be able to ride everything we want to like we usually do. I feel like I've got a handle on MK and EPCOT but HS is...

Kids menu choices - anything but mac & cheese or chicken strips!

I'm browsing menus as our 60+ ADR date is coming up in a week. It feels like my kids are going to be eating mac & cheese or chicken strips the entire trip.... and neither of them like chicken strips. What are some restaurants the offer kids something different than just mac & cheese, chicken...

The Genie Usage, Tips and Strategy ONLY Thread

Planning our June trip, which is our first with the G+ system. I'm starting at the beginning of this thread and hope it doesn't take me all 190 page to figure out what the heck I'm doing but I'm not optimistic. Compared to the old FP system, this is crazy confusing and overwhelming.

    Please Help - Motion Sickness/Vertigo

I get motion sickness, no vertigo. I have to close my eyes the entire time I'm on Star Tours. FoP was a little better for me - I was probably 50/50 on eyes open and shut. Any rides that ACTUALLY travel like 7DMR or Space Mountain, I'm fine on... it's just those simulated rides. I'm hoping Remy...
