    photopass on Disney Cruise Line

The price for a complete cd of images varies based on the number of nights of your cruise. And although this post is 2 years old - no - they have not implemented photo pass as of yet on the ships, although they are getting closer with the linked KTWC technology (any card from your room will...

    pirate night

Best in terms of what? Getting away from the families dressed as pirates? Getting away from kids whacking everything with a sword? Or best in terms of enjoying a semi-normal evening dinner in a relaxed manner? I don't know if PALO or Remy change their menu for Pirate night, but I'm guess...

    Kids and missing school?

We try to schedule around breaks - especially now that DD1 and DS are in High School. DD2 is still in elementary school (which isn't even graded) so when older two were younger it wasn't a problem. HS here is a bit pickier - they never cancel school - unless there is a blizzard on the day of...

Are photos available after you cruise?

You can try to contact the company (it is a company - not disney) and see. I was just on their site last week and did not see disney cruises listed as a "post cruise" option. their website is Mycruisephotos.com Good luck -

    WDW after cruise...experiences?

we've done before and after and much prefer the before option. Parks are fun for the rides, but the service isn't there compared to the ship. Coming off the ship and going to the hotel, parks is a bit of a letdown - unless you do the meal plan.

    Using dvc points on Magic

We've done 4 cruises with points - gotten an upgrade 1 time and then downgraded again so we'd be next to each other (5 family members - 2 rooms) Like others said - once it's booked and paid - they don't care. It's all about balancing the lifeboats and people. Dave

    Movies??

On our christmas cruise on dream it was: Wreck it Ralph Lincoln Timothy Green Those are the ones I remember.

    Photo Ops on Magic

Tons of them... On the longer cruises they will have multiple characters at the same time - you stand in one line and see all the characters - and get photos with them all. 105 photos on a 5 night - DD - 9 was the star of most of them. Ship photos on castaway; family portraits on formal...

    Disney Cruise or Disneyland?

Another vote for the Cruise - get trip insurance - and don't fret a storm. Disney will reroute the ship around any storm - and you won't even notice it (Unless it is covering the entire area, which is unlikely). DL was made to fit available space - unlike DW, where the company bought up as...

1 day away from my cruise and the weather isn't looking good

Don't sweat it - if the weather is bad enough they will cancel. On our Nassau day the forcast the morning of was for showers / clouds - it ended up being sunny and 75. On that cruise they did end up canceling many of the Castaway activities due to rough seas though...

    Magic vs. Dream

There really isn't a right answer to this one. Here's my take on both (just cruised on the Dream for the first time). Dream: Bigger, newer, more space, Auqaduck. Less likely to see / meet same people over and over - although I did manage to see / run into 3 / 4 families (including our...

Using Disney Reward Dollars on Cruise

Chose however you will pay for the balance left over after your reward $ are spent. Then on the first day of the cruise go to guest services and apply your reward / gift card. First time we cruised I did the same thing as a PP - waited until the last full day of the cruise - they fixed it...

Buying alcohol, water pre-cruise at airport?

As others have said - renting a car isn't going to save you much, if anything. (not just for an hour) - Cab might be an option - haven't done one personally. Cost of renting a car for the week - $50 + Cost of parking at terminal - $90 (cheap) - $110 (Prime) Again - depends on how many...

    Animator’s Palate and pirate night

We just did the Dream 5 night cruise and were in Animator's for Pirate night - our rotation was ERRAE (Holiday cruise - which may be different) - We got the Crush show - seated too far away for him to "See" us but still fun. Didn't notice anything different or out of the ordinary in terms of...

    kids clubs

I don't think that would be a big deal - we just got off the Dream and they let my 13 year old (turns 14 in May) float between Vibe and Edge.

DVC Points or Pay for Cruise?

We've been members for 5 years now and have booked 4 cruises using points. As others said - it's up to you and your comfort level - If you can't bank the points, and are going to lose them, might as well use them. Dave

bring the 'big camera' or not?

I'm a part time pro photographer and we always bring 2 Nikon D40's with us on the cruise - Both have the 18-200 VR mounted and we've never had a problem getting great photos. My normal cameras are D700 or a D300 - if I didn't have the D40's I'd probably bring the D300, not the D700. The...

    Decorations at castaway cay?

We went on the 11/6 cruise last year and they were just loading the decorations onto the ship as we left - in fact they even were starting to put them up onboard that morning. Not sure about Castaway Cay - they may be a week behind.

    Magic 2530?

We were in 2534 - just down the hall - we didn't notice the bars above us - and I believe all cabins in that row have one porthole. The comedy acts stay in that area of the ship too... Dave
