    DL/DCA trip completed Jan 29-Feb 2

I'm an infrequent Disney traveler, my last trip was when my son just turned 3 (he's almost 6 now), and that was just before Galaxy's edge opened, my trip before that was before he was born(or conceived) , so when changes happen they do tend to stick out more as they are typically more than...

Just For Fun...Tell me how long your drive is to Disneyland

roughly 7 hours according to Google assuming I don't hit traffic at either end.

Attractions you DON’T want to ride again

Lesse... Matterhorn- It has the distinction as the first tubular steel coaster and it feels like every other really old rollercoaster.. unchanged... painful... yeah, not a fan of that at all, I rode it two days ago because my 5 years olds first time, if he wants to go again mommy is taking him...

World of color only one show now?

Yeah I figure the timing on it would be based on daylight saving, ie, when it gets dark. But I do recall grabbing dinner and having a seat on the ground during the slow times of the year, so the first show wasn't that late

Anyone else done with the 60+ FP rule?

Could go the other direction too, completely remove the FP system. Yes it would probably stink on some rides but for others it would benefit because aguest who is in line two plus hours isn't in other ride lines

World of color only one show now?

It's been a while since we've been but trip with 3 year old would be nice to see but 10pm showtime kind of puts a damper on that plan. I recall there used to be two shows one earlier and one later right near park closing. Or is this a non summer thing? Going first week of May

    *May 2019 Check In*

Taking out 3 year old for the first time the first week of May, Thursday to Tuesday, only doing parks for 3 days though, probably Friday, Sunday Monday, Thursday is atravel day unless we leave late on Wednesday and deal with being exhausted in the parks. Hoping there will be a good lull in...

Anyone else done with the 60+ FP rule?

It wasnt even that much of a reward either because you couldnt get a FP until you used that first one or two hours passed so it allowed others a chance as well if you wandered into the park a little later, sure getting them for a big attraction, ie TSMM might be problematic on the busiest days...

Any advice with dealing with kid who isn't tall enough to ride?

Thanks for the response, completely forgot about Tom Sawyer Island though. FYI this is DisneyLAND not Disney WORLD we're going to (west coasters here), so railroad is still a go and SDMT is a no-go.. also means the big Cars Land ride is a no go either but that's another story. Also equally...

Any advice with dealing with kid who isn't tall enough to ride?

First and foremost, I am NOT asking how to get my kid on said rides. My soon to be 3 year old, the reason why we're going... because he's still a Free-year old :D, isn't tall enough for the "mountains" (Space, Thunder, Splash, etc) but he's seen the commercials and every time Thunder Mountain...

Josh is the voice of reason on FP+

Also an interesting note was either how many people didn't have smart phones or didn't realize they could access everything via that by the lines he showed at a few of the kiosks. Actually makes me feel a little less alone in the world knowing I"m not the only one without a smart phone :)

Josh is the voice of reason on FP+

That must be why they actually changed their policy to enforce those times... because they didn't feel it the system was being "abused". Also explains the outrage that occurred when the internal policy matched the external policy (i.e. what the ticket said) Don't get me wrong, I gamed...

Josh is the voice of reason on FP+

Might wonder why that is even an option then. Sure today you can get most FP+s the day you're there and usually swap them around as necessary without much issue, but you could also do that with ADRs when they first were introduced as well, my last DW trip there was exactly 1 time I could...

Josh is the voice of reason on FP+

I don't know, back in the day one might say using FPs outside of their return window (and not just by 10-15 minutes) would be cheating/abusing the system, but that was one of the most pushed strategies for using maximum FPs in any given day

Disney 'Magic Band' RFID bracelet revealed!!

I dunno, I would think planting all the flower that they do would be a landscaping impossibility... yet they do it :D Maybe not every 10m, but I'm sure there will have quite a few of them around the park, simply using them for rides/purchases seems like such a waste. Granted my deviant mind...

Disney 'Magic Band' RFID bracelet revealed!!

How wide are most of the walkways? They probably will simply line the borders with scanners, who knows perhaps allowing multiple scanners to triangulate where you are rather than giving simply 10m location bubble. Not sure how they do the KTTW cards when you say you can charge with them, but...

Disney 'Magic Band' RFID bracelet revealed!!

A NFC would give Disney no benefit over the much longer range RFID (assuming these bracelets don't work in the NF). Next up, just like the movie Minority Report, simply scan your eyes from afar to know who you are.

Disney 'Magic Band' RFID bracelet revealed!!

The difference is these things require you the person to physically do something, which is use your card or have it swiped for you. With RFID they can track you even if you don't buy a single thing int he park. Now I doubt they'll give specifics of the technology they are using, but I know...

The Odd Life of Timothy Green (spoiler free)

Yeah sorry I couldn't give you a more detailed review, kind of hard without spoiling the movie. The movie is just a tiny story with no basis on real life, and takes your emotions throughout the gambit from happy to sad to angry to funny and back to happy again :D

The Odd Life of Timothy Green (spoiler free)

Not sure if this subforum is all cartoon Disney movies, but I'll give this one a go. Saw this last night at a preview, was a very adorable movie, and while it won't break records at the box office was definitely something worth watching. There's no reason to see it in the theaters (nothing...
