Magic in Northern Europe May 30 2015

This will be the first part of a b2b for us as well. I've always wanted to experience a b2b and this seems the perfect time. We are down on deck 2 as a window is a requirement with that many days.

Things DCL might be getting frustated about us DISers

We also have cruised together multiple times since then in smaller numbers, unknown and unseen by the masses. We also manage, even after all this time, to have an annual get together. These are some of my dearest friends and I have shared joys/ heartache and some amazing times with them. If...

The beach in Nice was stone/pebbles and I was very happy to have water shoes. Those stones were hot!

For those of you doing Pompeil on your only, and with kids, let me recommend you hire a guide. Yes they can be pricey, at 100 euro, but we saw so much and were given explainations of the type of people who would have lived in the houses we toured, the political system, commerce and daily life...

Unable to book Disney ground transfers in Barcelona

If Disney doesn't cooperate there are several companies that will meet you at the airport with a van. It might still be cheaper than Disney transfers for a large group.

LOL that's why he lays out the clothes, so I can edit out the shirts with stains and holes. We are on Iceland Air which leaves at 8PM on the 21st. It has a long layover in Iceland, in which we plan to go to the Blue Grotto. I figure 6 hours in a geo-thermal spa will be just the ticket between...

Glad I'm not the only one with a dog dilema. We are looking at one of my son's friends housesitting for us and then having someone else come in during the day to walk them while he is at work. I have put DH in charge of this as he as no opinion on ANYTHING trip related. After 30+ years of...

I'm thinking ahead of time, another thing off the list. Besides not racking up another phone charge.

Somthing about "paid in full" that kicks trip planning up a gear for me. We now have our place for the five days in Barcelona booked and our place for the two days in Iceland post cruise. My "spreadsheet" of times reservations and how much it is going to cost is up and running. Sticker...

Rome in Limo Florence and Rome

We used Rome in Limo for Rome, Naples and Pisa/Florence Can't stress enough, get a guide for the Vatican. Our guide was a wealth of information and could navigate around the crowds. We would not have gotten nearly as much out of that visit without him. For Pisa and Florence we had the...

Thanks so much for the sunset time. Those are the pictures I really want to take. I believe my inner commando tourist will surface in Venice. Don't know how to fit it all in along with a trip to the glass factory.

    Naples excursions

Carmine from Rome in Limo took us to Trattoria La Tagliata. Hand down no question the best meal we have ever had in Europe. Even the view from the bathroom is stunning. Going back in June and very much looking forward to another great meal there.

Does anyone know how this works? Does the ship stay open all night or do we have a curfew? Venice is THE big draw for me for this cruise and I want to spend every minute possible exploring. Besides Rick Steve's says Venice at night after the crowds are gone is magical.

Interesting. This was not an option the last time we cruised, so when we were off the ship the local rules applied (which I believe is 16 in some countries) Mom was always there to supervise. My kids developed a taste for real Sangria that has lasted to this day. On ship it was 21. This...

Agreed, would not go anywhere without my pac safe bag. It's been to Europe, Mexico and the Islands. Enough area's to keep thing organized and enough safety features to discourage the dishonest.

    Just off Dream... Disappointed....

Odd, I've tried the vegitarian options on the dinner menu, when nothing else appealed to me. They were right there in plain sight.
