The #1 worst thing about a dw vacation....

Haven't read the other replies yet, but our worst thing is someone always gets sick! Not always victims of germs either. In '09 my DH had an emergency root canal.

But if EVERYONE gets to RD, then....?

I've been three times since we have kids and didn't make one RD (all at least 5 park days per trip). With so many kids and my parents who join us, getting a group our size out the door on time just doesn't happen. I also prefer to be in the parks at night; it's just how I am. So if we are...

First stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek last week

We had rental cars (one for us, one for my parents) so we did not use the shuttle. I liked having the freedom the rental cars gave us. There were plenty of towels. We laundered them right in the room; we brought those Tide pods things so we could do as many loads as we wanted. We did...

As you return from staying off-site, please post your FP+ experience here...

We were just there, staying offsite from 1/11 - 1/19. We went to EP on the 12th/13th when it was still legacy. We arrived both days between 11am and noon and were able to get FP- for Soarin' on the 12th with a return time around 5, and on the 13th, FP- for TT around 5 or 6, can't quite...

First stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek last week

Hmm not sure if it was part of my payment to VS. Back when I began, they quoted me a price, I paid a deposit, and then paid the balance. That was it. At check in/out I didn't owe anything else.

First stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek last week

I wanted to share our experience staying 8 nights at BC last week. Overall we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend it as a great option for offsite. We booked through Vacation Strategy and had no issues. Some notes - our opinions Location can't be beat; it is very close to...

How is MK with no Legacy FP?

We definitely experienced wrong posted wait times last week. When we walked up to meet Tink in early afternoon, the posted wait time was 30min but we only waited about 10 if that. Buzz was all over the place. Once it was posted 15 but we only waited 5 (standby).

How is MK with no Legacy FP?

I wrote a separate post about my FP+ experience (as an offsite guest) but wanted to add a few things to this post as well -- more details I'm thinking of. One thing that I thought was nice was that if you missed one of your three windows, you could still go to a kiosk and reschedule...

Mid Dec vs. Mid Jan - my experiences

I've done 3 trips to WDW in recent years. We did went in mid December, between the holidays, in '09 and '10. We just got back from going in mid Jan (1/11 - 1/19). Hands down I enjoyed the January trip better. NOW, granted there are some other differences like the changes in FP. Also, we...

Just Back - Stayed offsite this past week, my FP+ at MK experiences

At the kiosk, you select the 3 experiences you want, and then it brings up a screen with the 3 time slots... and there were a couple of options. The CM who helped me each time would be the one playing around with it to find a good option of times / places. The times were in the late evening...

Just Back - Stayed offsite this past week, my FP+ at MK experiences

One more observation about FP+.... The scans really keep you to the times. At EP earlier in the week, we arrived to TT about 15min early and the CM allowed us through, but when we tried that in MK with a FP+, they gave us the boot to come back after the time. No biggie; we went and rode one...

Just Back - Stayed offsite this past week, my FP+ at MK experiences

I just started reading the other big thread already asking about FP+ at MK this week; At noonish (I can't recall exactly the time) I waited < 5min at both the Stitch and the Mickey Theater locations; and about 5min at the Diamond Horshoe in the late afternoon. I did not pay attention or...

Just Back - Stayed offsite this past week, my FP+ at MK experiences

We flew home this afternoon after staying 8 nights offsite at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. We were at MK Tues, Wed, Fri, and just late last night. Here is our FP+ experience. Tues & Wed were very low crowd days. We were a party of 8; the 6 of us plus my parents and we're just NOT morning people...

I bet Ropedrop is a lonely place this am.

We were there in early Dec '10 as well - pros and cons. Our morning in MK, we rode POTC 4 times in a row to stay out of the cold - NO LINE. Around lunchtime my oldest son and I rode BTMRR 3 or 4 times in a row as well - NO LINE while my mom and younger son repeatedly rode IASM. We had gloves...

    Preparing vs. Planning

We are headed to WDW on Saturday for an 8 night trip :cool1: My parents plus my family of six. For our previous two trips in '09 and '10, I was a big planner and things had a way of kicking my plans to the side of the road (nasty falls, emergency root canals, the runs, record cold...

    Marathon weekend at the parks

We arrive on Saturday as well! :yay: We get in mid afternoon and will have our own cars. I'm still undecided what we will do that evening. I had planned on AK for Sunday but after finding out that the Lion King show is on hiatus, I'm leaning towards DHS instead. We have a rental car and...

    Disney Ponchos?

Great - this is exactly what I was hoping for. I'll gladly pay $8 or even $10 for something that will last, instead of $2 for a piece of junk. Thanks for the quick reply!

    Food options at Bonnet Creek

Thanks - it is helpful to know ahead if there aren't a lot of good options. I didn't think about ordering delivery in -- that is a good thought. We are a big group (6 of us plus my parents) and I'd like to avoid having to round everyone up to go to offsite restaurants for dinner after long...

    Disney Ponchos?

Do they still sell rain ponchos in the parks? Years ago we went in the early 90's and they sold this really cute yellow ones with Mickey on the back. I know they were a bit pricey but my parents bought them because it rained several days of our trip and we hadn't come prepared. They were...

    Food options at Bonnet Creek

We will be arriving at Bonnet Creek one week from tomorrow :cool1: We plan to have breakfast in our condo every morning to keep it quick and simple. I don't want to deal with prepping meals for lunch and dinner though, and am wondering what options there are within the resort. We are not...
