Leaving Thursday - what did you wear?

Thanks so much for your replies. You can always count on people on the DIS boards to answer so kindly and helpfully any and every type of question. To all who are going this week - enjoy! and see you there!

Leaving Thursday - what did you wear?

I know that I can check the forecast on weather.com and I have. But for those recently back from the World, did you wear tank tops, T shirts, or did you wear a light jacket or sweater? Even when the forecast calls for high 70's, I still think that temp feels a lot warmer in Florida than it...

    The good and the bad

Thanks for your honest assessment. I am going alone with my two boys next week and hope that the parks are not as crowded as your visit. I'm with you on the crowd issue - it just isn't much fun with lines everywhere.

    Updated 6/2-May 18-May 22, 2005 - Mother and Son Trip

Thanks for your trip report, I am going in June and trying to read all the TR's I can find. I am from the Boston area, so I feel your pain about the crappy weather. Driving into work this morning, heard it was 44 degrees.

Just back, and the crowds, oh my!

Thanks for all your responses - I appreciate them! Sweet maxine - I didn't try either of the desserts that I had heard so much about. I'll admit that this was supposed to be a budget trip and I was just too cheap to spend the $ - I think they were about $4 or $5 each. The single scoop ice...

Just back, and the crowds, oh my!

We just returned this morning from the World, having arrived on Wednesday PM, 4/21. It was me with DS5 and DS8. My DH and DD15 did not come. These are just random notes, I did not do a trip report this time or keep notes. Crowds: We went to MK on Thursday, 4/22 for extra magic hour and I...

what time to exit parks /what time to return in evening?

We always take a break to go back to our Disney resort, about 1 pm. We do end up missing parades because of this, but everyone is better off for the rest/swim time. Then we return between 4-5 pm. We usually end up at Epcot in the evening, so there's time for Future World rides (it's quiet in...

Day 6- De Ja Vu and ELBOWS

Thanks so much for sharing your trip report. You have a great sense of humor, I'm laughing as I read them. "Princess Mark", "Team Cute", "Team Purple", "Code Betsy" - love all the names you've given to everything.

    Arrived home yesterday

THanks for sharing your trip report with us. I'll have to note it down that you can see the fireworks from Pop Century - I'll be there next month.

    Mom/Son Very Special Birthday Trip 3/9 - 3/12 Day 3

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us - you are very funny! I love the bit about Space Mountain - I agree with you on that one, it's jerky but I've never seen it described quite so eloquently as you did. And the bit about asking the lady for the early entry rides - I love your honesty...

    i am so discouraged!!!!

We have been in March before, and noticed the crowd difference between then and May, when we usually went. However, it was not overwhelming. The key piece of advice I give everyone is to arrive early at the parks. My kids are early risers, whether at home or on vacation, so this is no problem...

Just FYI - We were asked our DD's age at park entrance

A co-worker of mine occasionally brags about how much $ she and DH make, and how she doesn't really need to work - she's nice in every way except for this little bragging thing. They went to Disney World with their DD, who had just turned 3. They didn't pay for her - her sister had convinced her...

Would you go alone with 3 kids (1,5,7) for 2 extra weeks

I wouldn't do it. 1. Taking your child out of school for 3 weeks is a lot. 2. Will you get overwhelmed/exhausted by yourself with the 3 kids? 3. Will 3 weeks simply be too much of a good thing? 4. $ - how about using the $1500 for another trip this summer? Good luck to you in whatever...

My older son doesn't want to go with us now...

First of all, your sister-in-law shouldn't have asked your son without asking you first, but it's too late for that now. I would make him go with you, especially because he's never been to Disney World. I think he'll have much more fun than he may think. To me, this should be your call, not...

    WDW w/ MIL part 6

So glad you had a wonderful time alone with DS, hopefully your mother in law got enough of her son for the day and won't start trouble anymore. Yeah right!

    WDW w/MIL part 5

Jeez, this is a tough one. I can see how your DH must have been in the middle, wanting to respect his mother but also knowing that he has to please you also. I can't believe the mind games she is playing. I have a father in law who is very controlling and when my DH mentions taking his parents...

    What's NEW @ WDW since 2001?

I'm not the original poster, but thanks, that's a cool feature. I have not been since 2001 also, I can't believe it's been that long, since we had been taking yearly trips up until then. I can't wait to be back next month!

    Taking a child's friend along

As for the $ issue, my DD's friend age 14 paid for her airline ticket. I paid for the hotel room, as it would have been the same price with or without her. But still, that was a good deal for her. SHe brought along spending $ for all meals and souvenirs. I ended up treating for one meal and...

    Spiderman ride at IOA

I am absolutely terrified of heights, just thinking about it makes my palms sweat. However, I absolutely loved Spiderman. Yes, it does appear that you are falling, but your mind reasons that you are not, at least that's what happened with me. I had no problem with it, and easily rode it a dozen...

    Park hopping in late April

I'm also a fellow New Englander, and I think you'll be fine. We like to take a break early afternoon back at the hotel, and if you did this and showered then, you'd be fine for dinner. But even if you didn't, as someone suggested, you could refresh in the ladies room.
