appraisal came in under agreed upon purchase price, now what?

Bought in a very hot city in July, had to go 30 grand over asking and we did face this, ultimately we knew we would have to bring to the table the cash to close above the appraisal. The market shot up so quickly it took a few months for the appraisals to start coming in justifying the costs...

    Home buying frustration

We countered 30 more and no inspection contingency (got the house as a result of our terms, we were not the highest $$$). They cut the bids off at five, we were lucky, one of the houses we looked at and walked out of went 150K over asking and we're not talking small dollars to begin with...

The Saga of our Disney Dream home - It's about time!

Oh my heavens!! I haven't been on the board much, we moved earlier this summer and it was PAINFUL, we had to compete with five offers (they cut it off at five), we had the best terms (cash, quick close) but not the highest offer, oh and we waived inspection (hot markets right now are insane). I...

    George Zimmerman Trial Part 2

Do you know he's dead? Do you know he didn't have a knife or a gun and he was doing nothing suspicious on the street except trying to get back to his own home? But he was followed anyways. Whatever happened next is really up for speculation, but Zimmerman is older and wiser and if he was scared...

    George Zimmerman Trial Part 2

Not exactly what I was expecting... First I will say this case makes me extraordinarily sad, but I have an 18 year old son and another child not far behind. There are 2 things I have learned from all of this, my 18 year old should expect to get shot en route to the 7/11 (we do live in a better...

    What is wrong with Rutgers?

Who knows why these universities do what they do. As far as I'm concerned Hermann needs to go, she is as vile as the basketball coach they fired.

    Help... Husband has a son!

From someone with a very complicated family that includes some of your elements, I don't find your story so incredible as to not believe it. I would want to know what the motivation of the mother of this child is and I would involve an attorney in whatever you and your husband decide to do...

    Cost of cancer

Only a few people I know could cover the cost of a catastrophic illness that went into the millions of dollars, not too many people can save up for that. That is not part of the ordinary family's financial package.

    Cost of cancer

Being sick is expensive, I have a different disorder, but we have gone through tens of thousands of dollars OOP, maybe we are up to a hundred grand now. Recently my wheelchair batteries had to be replaced, they'd always been covered, well no more, it's now considered a "comfort" to replace them...

I won free flights for a year

Also to lessen the tax bill, if you can prove the flights you took were less than 400.00 you can claim that number, not the random 400.00 assigned to them.

Longest flight you have ever taken

BOS-CNS (Cairns) 25 hours with layovers. I just cancelled a Perth to Montreal, I'll reschedule it, so when I take it, that will be the longest trip.
