Keep in mind that most airlines have a 50lb weight limit on the bag. When you use the bags to save space and thus add more clothes, it increases the weight of the bag that much more. I suggest doing a test-pack and seeing how close you are to the limit before deciding to ship or not this time.

Going off topic for a minute.........just wondering if you could tell me why you like doing so many split stays? I always thought it would be an inconvenience to have to move our stuff, check-in/check-out, etc. What's the flip side of doing split stays that makes it worth while to you?
