Best cabana rental on Family Beach

Cabana 8 was just perfect. We had family so we needed to be on family beach. I have been in #18 when it was the "last" cabin at the adult beach.

Disney Vacation Account - Site Down?

The problems matter to me if this turns out to be something systemic (e.g. not related to this 2-week upgrade nonsense). I too have everything printed and I do understand that some people have no idea that they did not record their account number and have no access. It is definitely a problem...

Disney Vacation Account - Site Down?

Why? Because a.) I was not affected by the double-dip since I authorize contributions when I'm ready, and b.) while the web site is not functioning, the actual account is functioning on the reservation/payment side. I've had issues with major bank web sites as well and that doesn't stop me...

Disney Vacation Account - Site Down?

I have been trying for days to add money and I still receive the same website down for maintenance message. Oh well.

Refund for not going to castaway cay?

I have been to Castaway Cay 11 our of 12 sailings. The only time I missed Castaway Cay was when it was not on the itinerary. Things do happen. The seas do rise and waves and wind make it dangerous to attempt docking and especially tendering operations.

Refund for not going to castaway cay?

I was refunded my Cabana fee on a cruise where it was so cold and windy at Castaway Cay, that hardly anyone left the ship.

Child hurt in Oceaneer Club - anyone else?

Darn it spell check! And darn those French classes when I was in grade school. :)

Child hurt in Oceaneer Club - anyone else?

That is the question du jour... is this much adieu about nothing? I would hope that Disney would take immediate, appropriate, and necessary action should any child be injured in any area (especially the clubs). Unfortunately, the clubs are not supervised 1:1 and children do the darnedest...

    Best transportation to pco

For our Easter (week) cruise, with 3 adults, 4 children, and 1 infant, we thought seriously about Disney Transportation and two rental cars. We stayed 4 nights at WDW before the cruise, so we knew that we needed transportation while on property. At the last minute, I was able to get a 15-PAX...

    Two rooms vs. one room

Excellent advice mmouse37. We chose to book 3 category 5A verandah rooms on our Easter (week) Dream cruise. There were 8 people (3 adults and 5 children). The bathrooms alone were worth not packing 8 into 2 cabins. We were able to connect two of the stateroom's balconies (they were...

    Dream concierge room 11004

We were also in 11010 and loved the location. The front of the ship does tend to rise and fall on rough sea days. We had no such issues on our sailing. I loved the location. Peace and quiet with easy access to the spa and to Deck 11! Short walk up a flight of stairs to the Concierge Lounge...

    CBS Football Game on Wonder

I have no idea. There are some licensing fees associated with publicly showing (exhibiting) sporting events. I know nothing about the inner workings of how they select which broadcasters to pay such fees. (For example, they have CNN on-board for viewing and that's not a Disney owned...

    CBS Football Game on Wonder

That would be expensive, but you could always purchase internet bandwidth on the ship and stream to your laptop. The internet bandwidth is sold by the MB. The most expensive is the $0.25/MB and then they have packages starting at $19.95 for 100/MB. The first 50MB is free if you sign up the...

    4E rooms??

I had cereal on my Category 4E extended balcony on Deck 5 as well (5660). I was in the aft section of the ship. When I sat out on the balcony, I stayed under the covered section with only my legs exposed. :) I had no noise whatsoever. I thought I'd hear noise from Evolution. I believe...

Seas after Tropical Storm goes through

I was on the Disney Magic on October 18, 2014 after Gonzalo blew by. The captain mentioned that the seas, that day (Saturday), were forecast at 5-6 feet, but we were in 8-10 ft swells. It was a little rocky but as the Captain had told us, the seas were calm after several hours. The following...

    Shuttle service MCO-FLL

A car is probably the best bet. If you can get a car with no drop or "one-way" fee, then that would be even better! You could also take the train, but just getting from the Port (DCL Transfers at $35 each) to the airport, and then a cab from the airport to the train (another $40)... you may...

    GTY Room Assignments

One of my tablemates was upgraded from an 11C to a 7A (Navigator's Verandah) on the Disney Magic repositioning cruise -- but he was a B2B guest. Of course, you should always book the room that you will be satisfied spending your nights during the cruise. If some pixie-dust is spread around...

October 18th, 2014 - 3-night Repo, San Juan to Port Canaveral

The crazy part was not only that a good number of folks were B2B, some earned Platinum in between (gold on the 7-night, platinum on the 3-night repo), and there were over 500 Disney Vacation Club members! That's crazy right there!

Cove Cafe is supposed to be adults only...

The adult areas are definitely not an afterthought. The Cove area on the Dream-class ships are perfectly situated if you ask me. The fact that the forward elevators requires some guests to walk through this area to get to the main pool deck doesn't bother me at all and doesn't read as a design...

    Dining rotation

I noticed that on the Dream, on four nights, they repeated one in the middle; we had ERAA on that last Dream cruise. On the Fantasy, I had the ERAERAE on an Eastern Itinerary. I don't know if the Fantasy changed their rotations to repeat differently. I suppose we can always add the...
