Amazing trips to SDL and HKDL

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who offered any and all advice on SDL and HKDL. We were able to hit both on the same trip by using the new 144 hour transit without visa in Shanghai and continuing on to Hong Kong. My family loved SDL and both DH and I agree TRON and the new Pirates...

Is this even possible (Tokyo Disney)?

Also, FWIW, Osaka and Kobe area amazing cities in of themselves; I would hate to miss out on the chance to explore them and have an 'eh' day at DisneySea to boot. Plus, if you get the hang of 'Japan' this trip: the trains, how to maneuver, and other solid help experience brings, it will make a...

    Considering HKDL... June or Feb?

Awesome information! I think we're going to shoot for November but I have friends who can only go in the late Jan/early Feb time frame and they were anxious... I didn't even think about the pull SDL would have for the first CNY. It would be great if holiday decorations are up in Nov - add a...

    Considering HKDL... June or Feb?

Thanks so much for your info! After considering the options, I think we're going to shoot for late November - it will be a quicker trip due to time constraints but with June so hot and humid and February being as busy as you say, I think it's a good compromise. Thanks for the info!!!!

    Characters

There are a few specific meeting spots for the staple characters but the rest are 'roaming' and can vary - I have seen a mix of princesses in Fantasyland each time we go and am not sure if they are on a set rotation or not. Most were with their prince and the roaming characters do not have a...

    Transportation from TDR to Narita?

My folks just did this from the Hilton Tokyo Bay and it worked fabulously! They hopped on the limo bus and said the drop off was easy and the seats much better than fighting the trains (we had done that earlier in the week after a few days in Tokyo). I have done the limo bus from TDR to...

    Can you still "horde" fastpasses?

We were just there in April for 3 days and found that, overall, if it was busy, they tended to enforce the times (the people in front of us at Pooh were turned away for being 7 minutes late) but on slower days they seemed to just glance at the start time. Not sure if that's standard practice...

    Considering HKDL... June or Feb?

We are looking at a long weekend in HK and DL is on the must do list but right now the only 'doable' time frame for us is either late June (hot, humid, did we say hot?) or February (Chinese New Year?). I, personally, would prefer to do June because we could do a day and a half at the park and...

    Popcorn buckets

OMG, that Stitch one is too cute!!! I wish they had that while we were there last week - DD7 would've flipped!... I suppose it's for the launch of the new ride this month. For those interested, we were at the parks for the flip from Disney Easter to Tanabata. Other than taking away the...

    Popcorn buckets

I am heading to TDR in 2 weeks and can keep you posted on the buckets I see. The 'season' changes over while we are there from Easter to the Tanabata Nights but will be switching to Disney Summer around the start of July. Sometimes that makes a difference (I know they had special buckets for...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

WELCOME To the RC board! party: This group is an amazing resource and a great place to not feel judged by resort hopping! First, let me say how jealous I am of your DLRP trips! We are currently clearing the Asian Disney properties but DLRP is that elusive creature that so far sits in our lofty...

    Tokyo Disneymoon

Everyone I have spoken with said that you should devote at least one full day to TDS. Truthfully, if you want to explore the outside resort area, you could probably do so midday on your TDL day. TDL is smaller than the US counterparts (it's easy to 'lap' it) and when we were there we felt...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

The Royal Rooms are in the mansions and if you get one of the middle ones, you're close to the footbridge that leads to the dining/pool area so that helps. I agree that if your kids get to go, you should too! My mom threatened to go on our honeymoon because she deserved a vacation as well...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Hello all! :yay: I am so behind but love seeing some of the trips shaping up! Pas - I think you'll love BC. Piglet - thinking happy baby thoughts for the new year and happy Disney thoughts for your trip! Mouse - just another month and they should release the military rates!!! Steve at the...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

*FINGERS CROSSED* Hope it all works out! Whistler!!! I am dying to go there sometime - looks so beautiful and serene! Balconies are great but def not worth the cost difference. As Sue said, make that your one request and *fingers crossed* it works out for you! We loved YC but would take...

Which airport is closest/easiest to get to Tokyo DisneyLand resort?

It honestly is not much different from each and, honestly, if you are staying near TDR I highly recommend taking the bus that goes straight from the airport to TDR. We took the one from Yokohama Station last month and it was roomy, quick, and super easy - especially compared to switching trains...

A long layover in Tokyo, can I do Disney?

I know many people who have gone out shopping/touring Tokyo on an extended layover so I don't see why Disney couldn't be an option... Depending on your timing, you could manage to do some Disney and still relax before your flight. One big question - would you be flying in/out of the same...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

That will be fun! It's always great to visit with friends and I'm starting to really enjoy resort days more and more! OOOOH, love me some Gulf Beaches! Nothing like it! And yay for the whole trip getting closer and closer! *~* Hope everyone is doing well! We are in Friday night here and...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

You will love CSR! We were there at Christmas and DH liked it as much as YC (he prefers YC but the price of CSR seems to put them in the same level overall) Have a great trip! FD definitely limits changing options... but it means more fun changing ADRs!!! Once we grabbed FD for our Dec...

As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

HP is worth a trip and the express pass will make the day go so much smoother!!! I must admit I am often partial to extending the trip even if it means dropping a room category... though comfort is also such a strong consideration. Is there any way to do a split? Just thinking the best of...
