    Off-site hotels

I have stayed at both the Amerisuites and the Holiday Inn at Universal- no comparison- Holiday Inn wins hands down!!! My suite there was very nice- a TRUE suite with 2 large rooms both with TV's, and a full sized kitchenette, as someone else described earlier- I was comfy there with my 2...

Parks and CityWalk layout? Are they within walking distance?

Another suggestion- Do NOT wait until you get to the park to make your Emeril Reservations or you are guaranteed to be disapointed. The waiting list can get months long, and tho many will say you can get in because so many people make and then do not keep reservations, I would not count on it...

Please help me find a great all suites hotel near IOA?

I second the motion on the Holiday Inn- (After you twist hubby's arm and he won't give in for on site) 2 Years ago I got a suite there for only $89 per night (granted it was right after 9/11 and they were practically giving away rooms),it is probably more expensive now, but other than staying...

    Busch Gardens BOGO?

No need for BOGO- Busch Gardens offers the fun card- for the price of a single day's admission you can come back for an entire year- You can buy it at the park or any Publix Gricery store in Florida and I belive Georgia as well.

terrors of the deep chicken door

As I recall, there are actually 2 parts to this attraction, when you enter it is just a walkway (not a conveyor) through the first giant aquarium. You can go at your own pace. The conveyor begins in the shark area, presumably to keep people from bottlenecking. That part is over with within a...

    Special needs passes

My son has autism so this is a familiar topic to me. We had annual passes to Universal 2 years ago and have not gone since, but I think their policy would probably be the same- After you get through the admissions gate go directly to the customer service office. When you ask for a...

Looking for NICEST hotel at Sea World/DC??

We stayed at the Renaissance last week and while the hotel is indeed the closest, and the atrium lobby is very impressive, I was very UNDERwhelmed by our room. It is a simple standard room, perhaps on the large side, with a balcony (ours overlooked the roof of the convention ballroom). We...

Have you 999,999 MIB fans Ever Had...

How about if they gave you the photo for free when you make a perfect score? I think that would be the best!

Best Western All Suites behind Busch Gardens???

We go to BG several times a year. I have stayed here a few times, the most recent being about a year ago. It's a decent hotel, although it is old and shows it's age, it is clean, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rate they gave you is their standard discount and not a bad...

    First time flyers

I don't know if they still do this post 9-11, and I guess it depends on how old the child is as to whether he would get a kick out of it, but in the past if you made it known to the flight attendant that it was a kid's first flight they used to give out cute little pilot wing pins...

    Autistic Child at Universal?

aww thanks for the warm welcome back guys! Hope you've all been well. We've been hanging at Busch Gardens the past couple years and there's not much posted here about that so..... I do poke my nose in here just to read the latest news once in a while and of course I could not bypass this...

    Am I cheap?

A suggestion- There are many florists and gift-basket companies that will deliver to the hotels. When I was staying at Embassy Suites in Tampa on my daughter's birthday I called a local florist and had them deliver a bouquet and balloons to our hotel while we were visiting the parks (I paid...

    Fun card or silver passport

The fun cards are good thru Dec31, so what most families do (mine included) is Mom or Dad gets the annual pass in order to get the free parking and shopping discounts, and the rest of the family gets the fun cards. Unless you are planning return trips after year's end this would save you...

    Hotel near Busch Gardens

Sorry this is too late for the original poster, but hopefully this might help others- We have been to BG many times and NCRedding gave you good advice. The Embassy Suites is by FAR the best hotel in the area. It's only 4 years old, with a gorgeous (It's so nice they have weddings right in the...

    Hotels near Busch Gardens Tampa

We have stayed at the Doubletree @ BG many times. It is my second favorite hotel in the area after Embassy Suites and those 2 hotels are the only ones in the area that are rated 3 stars by Priceline. The hotel is about as close as any other in the area, close but not walking distance. BG is...

    busch gardens

BG is our family favorite also. Rhino Rally is fun, but if the wait is long it really is not worth it IMHO- What the other poster said about heading there first is good advice, especially since it is not far from the front entrance. It's simply a large Land Rover that drives through a...

    Autistic Child at Universal?

We have not been to US/IOA in about a year, but we did have annual passes that we used about 10 times the year before that. My son was 10 at the time. He is autistic, sensory defensive, and non-verbal. When we visited the parks first stop would be guest services to request a disability pass. A...

    do people steal your wheelchair?

But it was at Bush Gardens in Tampa, not Disney. We were on a guided tour and going on a truck to meet and feed some animals in the field. We had to leave my son's chair at the "ranger station" and when we got back a half hour later the chair was gone. Security was given a description of the...

    roller blades

A few months back I saw a teen with those convertible sneaker/skates go by- a few minutes later I saw him again- walking - with a big frown... I think he may have been told to stow the wheels.... :jester:

    Special Needs Child - w/o a wheelchair?

oops- missed the 2 year old part... yes I would have to agree at least until the child is 4 or 5 would the wheel chair be preferable! :jester:
