Niagara Falls trip where to stay NY or Canada side?

We go twice a year, always stay at the Embassy Suites on the Canadian side. Free breakfast, drinks at night. Be sure to grab a great dinner at the Keg - steakhouse on the ninth floor. Great view of the falls.

    What have you had autographed?

We bought a junior sized football for my six year old son to have autographed. The characters loved to sign, some played catch with him after they signed. I think we had about 15 authographs by the end of the trip! It's also easy to display and doesn't get in a drawer like the book or shirt.

    15 or 30 yr mortgage??

No question - Go with a 15 year loan. More than likely the interest rate is about .50% lower than the 30 year loan. In addition, after the first 18 months, you will not even feel the extra $200. In the end, on a $200,000 mortgage you'll save about $90,000 in interest by paying it off in 15 years...

Leaving for WL on Friday the 13th should I be worried about hurricane Ida?

I was there in October 2005 for a Hurricane ???? (Can't remember the name), anyway they closed all the parks for a day. They actually opened up MK at 6:00 and kept it open till midnight. All in all, no big deal. Just a ton of rain in a 24 hour period. You'll be fine.

    Bounceback Timeframe

X-Mas displays are up for Thanksgiving till the end of the year. Anyone know if you can modify an existing reservation to a "Bounceback" reservation and take full advantage of the discounted rates. I'd love to be able to lock up the week now.

    Bounceback Timeframe

Thanks for the input. It sounds like room only, anyone one else confirm? Another set of questions - Can you "apply" the discount for an upcoming trip already under reservation or do they have to be "new" reservations? Finally, any idea of the dated in December? Hopefully the first two...

Wilderness Lodge Holiday Sleigh Rides 2008

Has anyone been on these in the past? What was your experience like? I have three kids - ages 6,8,9 and would like to know if they would enjoy. Is it through the woods or do they have lights to see, etc. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Tropical Storm Fay!?!?!?

Three weeks ago, my son broke his leg and we cancelled our upcoming trip the week of August 16th to 23rd. All of our kids were extremely disappointed. Luckily, we were able to reschedule for a week in early December. I guess things happen for a reason. Now with the storm pounding Orlando...

    Kalahari?

I've been there several times, most recently in May 2008. As far as indoor water parks, Kalahari is the best! A ton of slides, wave pool, funnels - you name it, they've got it... It's a great way to beat the winter months...

    Car Rental Time Pickup Question

I've had this happen to me the last two times we visited Orlando and never had a problem. As long as the "rental period" is for the same period, the rate will not change. The couple of hours either way will not make a difference. I would not change a thing, you'll be fine!

Any good rental car deals for August out there?

I have two to select from, both for 8 days and a Standard SUV: Alamo, $230 after discounts and before tax Thrifty, $176 after discounts and before tax I'm debating if the additonal $'s are worth it to rent from an on-site at the airport. Anybody have any experience with off-site rentals?

    Alamo v. Thrifty

I currently have two car reservations for the week of August 16th, one with Alamo and the other with Thrifty. My dilema, I can save around $55 with Thrifty. Total for the week for an SUV, with tax around $225. However, Thrifty is off-site. I've always used Alamo, have never had a problem and...
