While I agree with you and ADORE the mac and cheese as Chefs, I wouldn't say it's what someone expects when they think of traditional mac and cheese.

I think 40 minutes would be near impossible. We always set aside at least 90 minutes for a TS in WDW

We are on the regular dining plan. Will we be receiving mugs? And of so, can they be refilled anywhere in the parks or only at our hotel?

Chefs is awesome. So I would definitely try that. I'd also suggest Ohana, Cape May Cafe or, if you plan to be in DHS, 50's Prime Time is a wonderful choice.
