Its me...the OP again... Update: We changed our reservation (removed WL portion) and we will stay the entire time at AKL. We were able to apply the newly released discounts to part of our reservation and saved $600 total! :cool1:

Ditto, Ditto! We've always been able to get some discount on our rooms at Disneyland and WDW. I guess because we have two rooms booked -- I'm just feeling even more how expensive this family trip has become! The hotel is such a big part of our vacation.

Sorry, I misinterpreted what you meant by willing to pay. That's probably a more accurate way to describe why I posted to begin with. I'm just second guessing - since we normally don't pay rack rate for any hotel. Usually we're able to book with an AAA or a loyality rate. We didn't even pay...

OP here...POR is our 1st choice for a moderate. I've stayed at POFQ and CBR on previous trips and I really liked POR when we walked over there while we staying at POFQ. Thanks for your feedback!

OP here...We can't shorten our stay, flights have been booked and we're flying from CA. We booked knowing that we could 'afford it'...but, I was feeling a bit of buyers remorse, since it goes against my instinct to pay rack-rates for any hotel, even Disney! Thanks for your feedback!

OP here...I would consider Swan for sure. We do have a car, so I'd need to pay extra for parking, correct? We can't change our dates -- we've booked flights and are flying from CA.

It looks like it will be a miracle if any discounts will be released for my travel dates (Nov. 17-24). Currently, we have rack rate reservations at AKL for 5 nights and at WL for 3 nights. We have 2 rooms booked (since we are 5 adults who want our space). We will keep the AKL reservation...

Thanks for all of the feedback! We had a family vote & WL is the one! I think the theming and proximity to MK are the most important to us for this trip. OKW looks beautiful - maybe we'll get there on a future trip. This trip is pretty 'last minute' - due to the fact we are trying to travel...

Its $116 total savings...not per night. We will be there for 5 nights. We plan on doing MK for sure -- we will have hopper passes.

We will have a car (minivan). We probably won't spend too much time at the resort/or in the room, since we're pretty commando-type people at WDW! We will be visiting during the week leading into Thanksgiving (flying home on Thanksgiving). I think the Xmas decorations are probably better at WL...
