    MG questions

The Wanted is pretty huge with the tweens right now, one of the two biggest bands announced so far. If you want a good view, I'd say be there by late afternoon. Wouldn't be shocked if they even warrant a separate line.

    Best Hibachi restaurant in Orlando??

Amura on Sand Lake Road. But can't go wrong with any of the Kobes, either (there is one on Palm Parkway near Downtown Disney).

Any 2014 rumors...MVMCP and DHS lights?

Rumor of Osbourne Lights disappearing directly related to new development taking that space. With all development on hold, they should be safe at least another year, possibly long after. American Idol Experience, which was also on the chopping block, is staying for the same reason.

    Tell me about mardi gras

And even then, just Presidents Day weekend and generally whatever the busiest week in March looks to be. More or less a Saturday-only event. In addition to the parade and the "main" concert, throughout the late afternoon the parade performers (many on stilts) walk around handing out beads...

Stupid ? about ICE at Gaylord Palms

Having done the Polar Bear Run--where you run through Ice in just a swimsuit--don't underestimate the importance of gloves. Don't know why, but they make a huge difference.

    HP expansion at IoA end?

There was a rumor that the original Olivanders would close once the new, larger store opens in Diagon Alley, to make way for a tea shop (the one where Harry went on a date). Haven't heard anything solid on that in a while tho, I suspect the powers that be are waiting to see how well wand sales...

Best waffle house and IHOP locations?

LOL, that one is the cleanest Waffle House I've ever set foot in! Pretty much the only one I'll go to--the rest around town really are worse.

Happy Hour!!! Universal Happy Hour Information

Yes for annual passholders. Not sure if back for anybody else.

    Old Town Halloween??

Stilt-walkers, I think a DJ, a lot of the stores hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Where can I watch football in the parks?

As mentioned, Finns has 3 TVs--usually one on Redzone, other two on games of the week--Backwater Bar has one, tuned to RedZone. NASCAR Cafe basically turns into a giant football bar in season, can find any game in there.

Where to eat on Sea World day

Shark Grill if you feel like splurging. Otherwise, given the age of your kids, I recommend Flippers Pizza, a block north on I-Drive, or the TGI Fridays across the street. Both are quite good for what they are.

    Jellyrolls NYE?

Going on my hazy memory, but I want to say $40. Pretty much a standard cover fee, may have been a glass of champagne at midnight but no food or open bar or anything out of the ordinary. One of those things I debate doing every year, but then decide if I'm going to brave the hassle of WDW on...

Walmart, Target, Aldi's near windsor hills???

The Aldi by Wal-Mart is waaaaaay east on 192, in a sketchier part of town. Probably not worth the drive. The target by WH is very nice, tho, as is the Publix across the street.

    24 hour supermarket near Universal?

Not sure about the website, but it is open 24/7. If you have to go to a Wal-Mart near Universal after dark, this is the one to go to. Not a full grocery store, but there is also 24-hour CVS on Sand Lake Road and a 24-hour Walgreens on I-Drive; neither is more than 10 minutes from Universal.

    pool heat in Feb

Pool water doesn't warm at the same temperature as the air. It will be in the 80s for a month before you'll even start to notice the water temperature creeping up. An unheated pool is heart-stoppingly cold in February.

UPDATE: L’Artisan des Glaces, Artisan Ice Cream & Sorbet is now OPEN.

Tried it yesterday. Ice cream is very creamy (probably because made with little air), flavors were good. Salted caramel melted a little too quickly, and the profiterole didn't have as many "chunks of stuff" as, say, Ben & Jerry's, but overall quite good. Very good waffle cone, too, not soggy...

    Tell me about these restaurants

Highly recommend BB Kings, Southern soul food comparable to House of Blues. Be warned, as the night progresses, the music gets louder and it turns into more of a bar (a "cougar bar" at that).

    best sushi restaurant?

Not a huge fan, but locals rave about Amura (on Sand Lake Road) and Sushiology (on I-Drive).

    Taco Bell

You'll pay more for the taxi than you will for the food.

    192 & turnpike

That area is actually residential. You won't find too many touristy spots. Also, as you head west on 192 into Kissimmee, you run into some very sketchy neighborhoods very quickly. About the only ice cream place I can think of in Kissimmee on 192 around there is McDonalds. There might be one...
