I am planning a 3-day weekend trip for my gf and me in late January. Being pretty loyal to Disney, I have never stayed off property, so I am going to need some help. For this visit, I am trying to plan a nice weekend with no park tickets. Just relaxing and trying to keep the dent in my wallet to...
Alienates half the country? Bold claim.
It bothers me that this announcement is creating reactions of "Oh no, more environmental extremism." If that is the reason you didn't like the movie, please open your eyes to the other point of view. I'm not saying it is correct, but it is important to...
I saw the movie and enjoyed it, but I just don't know how this is going to fit in with DAK. I think I would like the idea of them extending DAK into the originally proposed beastly kingdom and include the Avatar stuff. I'm just not convinced Pandora-land will be able to hold its theme for years...
The online reservation software is far from perfect; in fact, it's abysmal. I find when I log in to the website there is an option to "Retrieve Reservation" and you can find reservations by the dining numbers. It worked for me a few times when only one or none of my reservations were showing.
Yachtsman is excellent. I think it is much better than Le Cellier. More steak options as well as other entrees. The atmosphere is quieter, roomier and more luxurious. I have never had a bad experience there, and it is walking distance to EPCOT and DHS.
Any coffee fans in the group? The press pot coffee at Kona is excellent. It is a nice relaxed atmosphere as well. I remember Cape May Cafe being a character breakfast (someone correct me if I'm wrong), which could be hectic on the last day. The Poly is a really awesome resort to check out if you...
I used to go to Knoebels all the time. Great family park! It is really amazing that they do what they do.
Best parts are:
Phoenix and Twister - Great wooden coasters that aren't too smooth and give you the old coaster feel. Phoenix is an old classic. The smell of the grease on the...
I just saw the title of the new WDW Radio Podcast, Top Ten Restaurants in Walt Disney World with the Best Ambiance. It intrigued me to ponder my favorite locations in WDW that really pour on the ambiance. Disney's strength is pulling you into the story, and they are able to do it all over...
This may have already been posted, but here it goes.
I read this cool blog post about a guy who specializes in making t-shirts and art based on the original concept of Disney World. It is worth checking out, some of the t-shirts are really neat.

Japan is my favorite (by a small margin) of all the countries in WS. The area is large and, in turn, is not cramped. The gift shop is my favorite part. There are tons of Japanese items for sale, and it is fun to browse. They have the "select-your-own-oyster" pearl stand which is always fun. My...
Reef's are good. I also like Rainbows, but I find that while the leather wears nicely, the cheap rubber sole wears too quickly and becomes slippery. I just got a pair of Chaco's and love them. The sole seems extra durable and treaded, and they provide good arch support.
It is nice, but it doesn't get too dressy. While I was there there were many people in shorts and sandals. I think anything would probably be acceptable with the exception of cut off sleeves or tank tops. In my opinion, the food is great too.
It can be as short as ten minutes. It is definitely faster than the Monorail. The nicest part of being at the Contemporary is when the park closes after Wishes and there is a mad dash for the buses and Monorail. You can just stroll back to the Contemporary.
Take the cheap ponchos. They are small enough when packed to fit in a back pocket or a purse, and they are disposable. My family usually has 2 per person per trip. We reuse them a little if we don't tear them, but they are better than spending $7 a poncho.
Walt always made his products, whether rides or merchandise, top quality. His thought was along the lines of, "If it is good quality people will appreciate it and pay for it". It can be frustrating when The Disney Co. shows that it is a corporation and not the quality/fun loving company we like...
If there is ever a coaster that is blatantly unthemed as if it were at US or any amusement park, Walt would roll over in his grave. I imagine as many people do that Disney is something more than an amusement park. The FLE is appealing to some of the guests and I imagine most families take trips...
