    What could this be?

I have no idea if the OP is still reading. Anyway, to the OP - you can do whatever you want with your life and health. Play Russian roulette with your life. Have at it. Your body, your right. However, your right ends when you get in that car and endanger me, my family and everyone else on...

    Another carnival cruise without power

Back in 1994, DH and I took a Celebrity Cruise. We got to the port and found out there was a problem with one of the engines. The cruise sailed as planned, but slower, so they decided to skip San Juan. Because of that, we received a 30% refund. Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it...

    Another carnival cruise without power

The Dream is more than a year old. I sailed on it in 2010 when it was 6 months old.

I think the idea of any trophy for 8th place is absurd.

Need gift ideas for a 17 year old boy

I don't understand. What occasion are you celebrating? It's a class ring he didn't want. I would just get him a birthday gift. Every teen loves gift cards and cash.

    Boarding School

Absolutely. We just registered our daughter for high school, and the course catalog is as thick as a college one. The choices available blew my mind since we had nowhere near that when I was in school.

How far would you go to avoid disappointing your children?

My husband wouldn't wear a My Little Pony shirt, but then again, I would not have permitted her to buy one for him. I would have steered her towards something he would wear.

    How's this for arrogance?

You actually took the guy seriously?

    Boarding School

Same here. I am the one who advocated for my daughter and her IEP starting in second grade. She did so well that they discharged her from it completely in November (8th grade, public school). Usually, I tune out when people start talking about how dazzling their children are, but this...

FYI: Planning on a DC visit? Don't plan on White House

They are spreading out the manpower throughout the duty stations by adjusting shifts and schedules to cut out overtime.

Disney has ruined me for other vacations

I love Disney, but there is an entire world out there to see. I can't imagine limiting ourselves to just one destination. Heck, our kids, 11 and 13, wouldn't let us. They've been blessed with the travel bug and would hate it if the only place we ever visited was Disney. When we go away...

FYI: Planning on a DC visit? Don't plan on White House

Thank you. I am always floored at how people so far removed from the situation always think they know more than those directly involved.

FYI: Planning on a DC visit? Don't plan on White House

This is how much money is being saved: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/03/07/cutting-w-h-tours-will-save-secret-service-2-million/ The Secret Service needs to cut around $84 million. This is just a start.

Right on cue. The DIS back story.

Disney Assimilation of a 2 yr old

You're not the only one. I don't understand why the OP felt the need to convince her sister to go to the Magic Kingdom on a trip she is neither paying for or going on. Not every single thing needs to be about Disney. And really. It's not critical that a 2 year old be able to name all the...

If you will have a purse, why would you even consider a lanyard?

    Bermuda...Passport needed for kids?

If they cruise as much as you imply, then a $100 is not a huge charge.
