On our Med cruise we did a wine one that was pretty fun. We had to bring a bottle from as close to home as possible. Not really a beer drinker, but happy to be part of it.

SE Asia, seeking advice and others booked on same departure

Happy to have helped. My youngest son is a Hard Rock Hotel fan and we always try and fit them in when we travel. It was a 10 minute walk from the Hotel. We had an amazing time on the adventure and I know you will too! If you do a trip report I look forward to reading it and reliving the memories.

SE Asia, seeking advice and others booked on same departure

We ended up leaving the first day empty. Ho chi min city was a bit of a culture shock and the heat, smells and road crossing beat us on day one. We walked to the markets, lunched at the Hard Rock and chilled at the hotel. I know we missed an opportunity to explore the city but we made up for it...

Australia: Discovery Down Under Meets Thread

Sydney: The bridge climb is pricy but spectacular. The zoo is very nice, especially if you catch the ferry across from circular quay. The ferries take you to some lovely spots - Watsons bay is a short ferry ride and provides the opportunity to eat at Doyles (seafood) and take a bush walk along...

Australia: Discovery Down Under Meets Thread

Post this in the Australian section of the boards and you will get a flood of information. Melbourne is a lovely city with fabulous restaurants and great culture. It is a day trip from Melbourne to see the penguins and there are many tour operators that do this trip. The inner city itself is...

    Canadians Cannot Be Adventure Insiders

Australians can't be Adventure Insiders either. I was a bit put out by this - how hard is it to send an email internationally.....

Cambodia, Vietnam & Laos: Jewels of Southeast Asia Meets Thread

We went in April this year. It was extremely hot! Shorts and tshirts are the best bet. On four days you will need shoulders and arms covered. Bring plenty of clothes as you get pretty hot and sweaty and will change clothing a lot.

A week somewhere in Nth Am... but where?

Our boys LOVED New York. There are a ton of child friendly activities although I recommend an unlimited subway pass as the walking was gruelling for the boys.

Everywhere is a long way from Australia! We are including a visit to WDW as well as the cruise. Unfortunately for my budget we fell in love with a Disney after a trip to the World in 2010 and have since managed another few visits, the Med Cruise and an ABD to South East Asia (amazing trip).

    Booking a Cruise

Last time we cut Micky hats out of black paper and glued them on to the caramello koala packets (on the bear's head). We put in one for each person plus one Australia cap for each stateroom.

We did a Disney Med cruise in 2011 but this will be our first US based one. It will be me and our three boys (11,14,15) from Australia. My husband is not a cruise fan and is staying home.

    Booking a Cruise

Congratulations! We have just booked the Western Caribbean for September 19 next year. It worked out perfectly with the school holidays. Now to save up so we can add some WDW time at a deluxe resort....

Australia: Discovery Down Under Meets Thread

Cousin Orville we used a lot of your restaurant tips on our recent Asia trip. If there is any information you would like on Australia I am happy to try and help. Also, the Australian section of the DIS has a fabulous suite of helpers who can assist will tips all over the country.
