Where do you get your Disney news?

No doubt. The site, along with the Dis Unplugged podcast are fantastic. Just wondering what else was out there.

Where do you get your Disney news?

I was wondering where people go to get news updates on the theme parks. Is it just the message board and Dis site, or do you have other favorite sites, podcasts/webcasts or print products you rely on. If there's a reliable source I may be overlooking, it would be good to hear about.

    .

So according to your logic, we shouldn't bother with any history books before people actually experienced events, which makes study of any event prior to World War I moot. Sorry, I disagree. There is plenty of reputable historic information out there. You can go directly to the writings of the...

    Staying up

Having undergone this very simple procedure, I can tell you that the only help I needed was a ride home immediately afterward. I was perfectly fine doing things around the house that same day. The next day, I was out in the yard cutting the grass. As long as he's not jumping around or jogging -...

Do WDW fans use "Walt Disney World" and "Disney" interchangeably?

Are you people for reals? Guess what, I'm going to DISNEY this summer and I can't wait to be in DISNEY. I always have so much fun in DISNEY that I make sure to tell all my friends all about DISNEY!

Police: Girl, 14, stabs sister 40 times because she felt unappreciated

Wrong again. Actual statistics from the CDC: For males ages 10 to 24 years, violent crime arrest rates declined from 850.8 arrests per 100,000 population in 1995 to 423.1 arrests per 100,000 in 2011. For females ages 10 to 24 years, violent crime arrest rates declined from 139.6 arrests per...

On DLR Podcast- new park music?

Both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Official Albums are also available on emusic.com - a great music download service for those who regularly download music. It's a subscription service - you choose the level and then you spend your money on the downloads on their site, which are...

Rodeo clown mocks Obama at Missouri State Fair

Well as someone who has moderated newspaper story comments, I can tell you that the racist attacks on Obama and his family have been constant. Anyone who wants to minimize the amount of racism directed toward Obama is either willfully ignorant or dishonest. The whole birther movement is at its...

My daughter just cancelled her Rolling Stone

So it's Rolling Stone's fault that people too stupid to read won't see that the cover calls him "a monster"? I'm frustrated that there's no room for subtlety or nuance anymore. The cover worked very well in the context of the article, which described how friends, coaches, teachers had no clue...

Not sure if it's worth it anyomre

Agree with PP. We did the dining plan on two previous trips, but last year, with my "adult" 10-year-old, I was not about to pay $51 a day so that he could eat chicken nuggets and PB&J. So we went the OOP route, charging everything to our room and paying off the balance with gift cards. Worked...

Disney Week on Destination America! Something to DVR,

OK, odd question, but it's driving me crazy. In "Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes" there is a clip of orchestral music that plays when they show Illuminations. It also plays during a short clip of Pirates of the Caribbean. Is this music from the parks, and any idea what it's from?

    Bench video possiblities

First, let me say that these videos are a brilliant idea. Kudos to whoever thought of it. I do have one recommendation for future videos. Try to place the camera in proximity to speakers that are playing the music for whichever theme park or resort your're in. The music is such a huge part of...

    Need reinforcement about Beach Club!

We did a split stay last August at the DVC villas at Wilderness and Beach Club. Really enjoyed both, but I have to say Beach Club was my favorite because of the pool and the short walk to Epcot, which is my favorite park. The pool is the best we've been to at Disney by far. There is nothing...

    Alcohol at Be Our Guest

I second this. Look at it this way, it's an additional revenue stream that could help to hold down prices for things like park tickets. In all the times I've been to the parks, I've never seen anyone fall down drunk. I do enjoy the occasional beer with dinner, and would like the option at the...

Any recommendations on deciding on a DP vs. no DP? (m)

If you want to do a lot of character meals or eat at more expensive places, the dining plan may be worth it. But that's a big if. We found this year dining out of pocket for the first time that our famly of three spent half of what it would have cost to purchase the dining plan.

(CLOSED) Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE and VILLAS Information Thread ~2012~

I will be on my first trip to the Wilderness Lodge, checking in at the Villas in two days! Quick question. I need to pick up my Y.E.S. tickets upon my arrival. What's the best way to get to the Ticket and Transportation center. I was thinking the boat to CR and then the monorail to the Ticket...

Who has the best crowd calendar?

Love Touring Plans and the lines app. And I've been addicted to easywdw since discovering it last year. I have nothing bad to say about either, and I'll be using both on my trip in 2 days! The more information the better, I say. And I think I have a good enough feel for the parks that I can use...

    Y.E.S. Ticket question

It's really cheap to add waterparks to the Y.E.S. ticket. I think I paid about $17 more per ticket. So we'll be trying out the water parks and DisneyQuest for the first time this year.

    how crazy is this?

I can't believe all of the responses encouraging this madness. Think about it. A 4-year-old alone in the back seat, strapped in her car seat for a total of 30 hours over the course of 2-1/2 days. And dad's going to exhaust himself trying to pull this off. And what kind of state of mind...
