    FP+ for Character Meetings

If a kid has a FP+ to see a character, does a parent going with them need to have one also?

Can US and IOA be done in one day?

Okay, I've got one day at Universal with 3 11 yo boys on the Friday before Labor Day Weekend. We're staying at the Royal Pacific so will have early entry and Express passes. Last year on the same day IOA was open 9-7 and Studio 9-6. Give me your best touring plan! Do we use the early entry...

    Hilton Head, SC

Last time we went to Hilton Head we took a long-time babysitter who was then in college. She told us about an outing she had done there with her family where they went out on a shrimp boat and actually harvested shrimp, including snapping the heads off and taking some home with them. We...

Do you do this at the Drive up ATM?

Aren't those people deciding that they can't grant somebody the courtesy of pulling forward because they think putting their stuff away right there and then is more important than a couple of minutes of my life?

So where exactly is my census info? - Update

Uhhh, folks, they've worked on an on-line option, but they decided they couldn't be sure enough about the security and reliability of a new system to do one for 2010. There will almost certainly be an on-line option in 2020...

Do you do this at the Drive up ATM?

This drives me crazy, as does the person in the supermarket cash register line who stands there waiting for their entire large order to be rung up, and only after the total is reached do they start to open their purse and look for their credit card, or worse TAKE OUT THEIR CHECKBOOK! Please...

FRUSTRATED!!!! And our WDW trip just days away!!!

They weren't working, what were they supposed to save? Sounds like the two of them have used this economic freedom to study for potentially lucrative careers that will enable them to be self-sufficient for many years to come, hard to fault that.

Must see in DC in July

If you download Google Earth you can use the measuring tool (it's a ruler icon in the top tool bar) to measure the distance (as the crow flies) between two points. Also, each museum website should have a directions section that will tell you which is the closest Metro stop.

Must see in DC in July

I don't know about that, but there are free performances every day at 6 p.m. at Kennedy Center. If you go make sure you go up on the roof and take in the view. http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/

Must see in DC in July

Another option, out of the heat, would be to buy tickets online in advance for an IMAX movie at the Natural History Museum or at Air and Space, and the family could meet you at that museum afterwards; the older kids would miss the movie but not the museum.

If you think people are rude at Disney........

As has been pointed out, that is no longer true.

The Zoo is definitely not close to the Holocaust Museum. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is next door. The Washington Monument is nearby if you could get timed tickets to go up the Monument corresponding with the Holocaust Museum visit. Across the Mall is the American History museum...

Then you were in a pretty safe area. Panhandlers are not generally dangerous. I'm sitting right now in a Starbucks in Bethesda where this is a regular pandhandler that parks right out front. I worked one summer just a few blocks from the Hyatt and back then there were lots of homeless folks...

Must see in DC in July

Not sure exactly where you were, or when (there has been some fairly recent gentrification in the Capitol Hill area), but there are areas fairly near the Capitol that might be a bit uncomfortable for those who are not used to city dwelling. But the areas around the Memorials (Jefferson, FDR...

GoogleEarth Street View is Way Cool

What a cool program. Just found out that Streetview is available through Paris Disneyland. AND, they now have a tricycle that can go where their car can't, so they are adding things like the gardens at Versailles. Way cool.
