To go or not to go…

Keep watching the local news, Florida's hospitals are filling up and now have refrigerated trucks in front.

    Double tree at UO Entrance

We've been there a few times, the walk is great. If you do the shuttle check their schedule I think they stop after the park is closed

    Doubletree hotel location

The crosswalk tells you how much time you have before the lights change, we always waited 'till the light turned green and it was great.

POFQ, AKL, WL !?? Help me pick!

We've stayed at AKL and POFQ and loved them both. The price difference isn't actually for the rooms but the additional perks. Will you be spending more time at the hotel or in the parks?

For those of you that stay deluxe - what do you do for a living?

The biggest thing is the timing, how long you'll be in the hotel compared to the parks.

If you’re on the fence about doing a last minute trip between Disney and Universal

Just don't do your packing too soon, I wait till last minute watching the weather.

    Universal in the rain?

Don't run away from the rain, not only so many available options but it's warm. I loved walking through to puddles!

    Doubletree hotel location

It's an easy walk and the hotel also has a shuttle. If you do that just pay attention to the schedule, they stop before Citywalk closes.

Question For Those Who Didn’t Enjoy Universal...

It's all about setting your schedule. While at Disney we had to rush through everything without enough time to enjoy it. Universal is much more relaxing.

Animal Kingdom Lodge any standard view rooms that have a partial view

It all depends on your plans. We paid for the great view but never had a chance to appreciate it because of rushing out to the parks with our kids. Our second visit was just me and my husband where we could sit on the balcony and enjoy the scenery. If you get a standard room, just walk around...

Thinking about stepping outside the bubble...

We visited Universal three times, all for a week's vacation and loved it! At Disney we had to accomplish as much possible with the time we had which meant rushing through the parks. Universal was better because we could slow down and enjoy everything there. Not only parks but also the hotel...

    Autographs or not?

It all depends on what the books will mean to the you and kids after you get home, I did this when mine were 7 and 10. The books ended up being looked at only a few times and I was sorry we did it because of the time spent standing in line. Ask them about it and think about everything else...

    Walking shoes

My favorite is Skechers, especially shape-ups. Both their sneakers and sandals are lightweight and include insoles for arch support. When I tried the shape-ups for the first time it took a day to adjust to the difference, but after that they were great!

    Southwest Pros, advice!

I wouldn't worry about the aisle seats, I often see more people choose the others.

    I think I made a mistake... or did I

We stood at POFQ with our DN8 last year, it was great. The area is smaller which made it feel more comfortable and personal. It was easy to walk around and see everything. Take a look at this site- www.portorleans.org/ it has lots of information on both POR and POFQ.

I agree with your parenting, he needs to learn responsibility. Have a talk with his teacher and get some work for him to bring on the trip.
