As far as I know, transportation to other parks runs as long as that park is open. The MK bus will take you to the TTC though, and not the MK gates. For Epcot, you would just hop the boat that you would normally take from the Dplhin to MGM.

Some rental companies will rent to somebody under age 25. Dollar and Budget come to mind. There may be others, but those are the ones I used when I rented under 25. Keep in mind, however, that the rental companies will impose a surcharge of $15 - $30 per day for an underage driver. Good Luck.

I'm pretty sure at MK that you need to go back to the TTC to transfer to another park. All of the other parks have bus transfers to other parks. If you go from one park to MK, the bus will take you to the TTC.

Epcot can be a good park to visit in the afternoons (your resort isn't that far from Epcot) and then go to Illuminations. You could also explore the Boardwalk or any of the other suggestions mentioned here. I would not plan on doing anything at Animal Kingdom, as it closes relatively early.
