    Marathon Weekend 2025

Hopping in late, my husband and I in for Dopey. We ran in it 2017 and again last year. I'm getting ready to retire from the military, so looking forward to being more active in the Run Disney season (he's still active so I'm dragging my oldest to Wine and Dine.) SAFD: We ate at Le Cellier...

    *August 2024 Check-in Thread*

My My husband and I visited back in 2007 when we were stationed in Monterey at the Post Graduate School. Our oldest was born there, but we moved when he was 3 months. We would have loved to squeeze in more time in Northern California, but unfortunately only had 2 weeks to work with.

The Dream in Nassau and backing in

It is most likely dependent on port loading. Ships aren't always the same on on both sides with regard to deck equipment (i.e. where lines hook up to on the ship), so it could be that certain ships need to go certain places for that reason. Additionally, it could be related to currents around...

Two on jet ski almost run over by Carnival Magic at PC

Anytime there is an incident, there will be an investigation to assign fault. I'm not sure how long the ship would have been retained in port, but it likely would have caused delay. If the young ladies had not be pulled from the water, I would imagine there would be a resultant search and...

    Marathon Weekend 2017!

Yes, it seems several of the TIT runners are doing it now. I will likely be doing the same tomorrow morning. I'm active duty and this likely my only shot at for years so I'm doing it once the rain lets up.

We used A1A Limo Service and had great success both to and from the airport.

    Concerned first time cruisers

Both my husband and I are in the Navy and are very used to being underway in heavy seas. Non-drowsy Dramamine is what I used when I first joined. A lot of people also use patches and the bracelets that put pressure on your wrists. I don't really have issues any more, but when I do, the best...

    Child Care Reviews at Disney?

We used both Simba's Clubhouse and the Sandcastle Club on our last trip. Both were great experiences for our boys (4 and 6). They do two dinner times there, either 6/630 or 8. If you don't arrive until 6, you may not be able to get the order in for the earlier dinner (maybe you can call...

    DVC vs. Shades of Green?

We are also Navy and considered Shades of Green as an option as well, but have found that it is incredibly hard to get on shorter notice. From what I have seen, the Navy is the most dynamic of the services and we have never been able to plan a vacation more than 3 months before leaving. I know...

    In room babysitter at BLT

Kid's Nite Out is a great service and I'm sure they will cover that time. We have used them many times to watch our boys. We have used the same sitter for going on 4 years and she is wonderful. They come with age appropriate games and keep the kids occupied until bedtime. They do charge you...

    Who has been brave here?

I had the same problem with two accounts and accidentally linked my DVC AP to one and all our hotel and dining reservations to the other account. If you IT help, they will have one account friend the other, pass all the information and then delete the non-use account (in my case this was the...

    OT cats fighting??

We usa a penny can (soda can with pennies inside) for redirection. Drives the cats totally bonkers so they don't fight. Also, when we introduce a new cat, we wipe it down with a wet washcloth and then put that washcloth underneath the feeding bowls of the other cats to reintroduce the smell.

    Kids Nite Out

We used Kid's Nite out on our trip in both May and July (a total of 5 nights). We were able to use the same person on all 5 of those nights. She was a really great lady and we would absolutely use her again in the future. She watched our 2.5 year old and our 3/5 month old without issue. She...

*************, Kids Nite Out or Fairy Godmothers?

We have used Kid's Nite Out on several occasions. We have had the same sitter each time and she is wonderful! She is extremely nice and has even worked on her usual day off as we requested her. Though a bit expensive, the service is great and well worth the time alone.

Questions about bringing a baby in Sept...

We just took our 2 year old and 3 month old in May (4 day trip) and are getting ready to head back next week (8 day trip) and baby will be 5 months. Our ped told us that pure sunscreens were fine for baby, we used California Baby with great success. The biggest thing that seemed to help...

Babies ears and the plane ride?

When flying with our kiddos (3 months and 2 year), I nurse the baby at take off and landing and give the 2 year old a sippy cup and a snack to have the both swallowing to clear their ears. Generally, the baby would sleep through either take off or landing, so I would only have to nurse once.

Disney with an infant in lat July/early Aug?

We took our three month old in May and will be going back in late July when he will be 5 months. What we did (and will do again) is "wear" our baby so we had a good idea of when he was getting too warm. Whenever we felt he was getting overheated, we went into an airconditioned area (the baby...

Do you use the baby care centers?

We used them on our last trip with our two boys, 2 yr and 3 mths, for diaper changes, nursing for the baby without having to cover up, and just a cool place to relax for a few minutes. The changing areas are very nice, clean and plentiful. I wouldn't truck all the way across for the park for...

is Yachtsman really that bad now?

We at there 2 weeks again and it was wonderful. My hubs had the NY Strip and I had the deconstructed Beef Wellington and they were delicious (the Wellington was the best). Also, the mushroom caps on the side were great. We would totally recommend eating there.
