We met the dwarves several years back when we went. I think we started lining up about 5:30 and there was already a huge line. It was a cool one time thing but I don't think I'd wait that long again. It took awhile.
They are not necessary neither is bacon....if you are just hitting the parks all day I wouldn't bother. But it is a lot of fun to just bop around on one throughout the campground. We went for 17 days last time
Thanks all. Still working on moving to Peachtree City (yup the golfcart town...so we can act like we are at the fort year round). Wife and I have jobs lined up. Just wrapping up some stuff on our house and waiting to hear back from a seller on a house down there. We have family in town and...
Went there a few years ago when DD was 7. She still talks about how she wants to go back and it was the best meal she had. I can't even remember what it was but it left an impression. We all enjoyed our meal and honestly think my NY strip there was better than i had at Le Cellier
Working on relocating for several different reasons. Is it terrible that when my DW and I talk about it we keep mentioning that it will be such an easy drive to the Fort? And even quick car rides to value resort for long weekends? We just did the Fort for the first time (except when I was...
We lucked out our last time there then....
We planned to boondock somewhere on the way down, prob SC or GA. I said "screw it, lets see if we can come in late tonight". We called WDW reservations and the CM said sure they have a site you may have to change it in the morning and it will be full...
My wife surprised me with this the other day. Spent many hours there in the late 80's and early 90's when we stayed at the Fort. I remember the slides that terminated mid-air into the water seemed like they were 40 feet high but now I see they were about 5' above the water.
Another tip is (this probably goes without saying but) keep your eye on them. The slide supervision is pretty much minimal if any. So though your kids may be listening and following the rules there may be others around them that are not...
I was nervous not for my DD so much as some other kids...
Not sure if you have kids or their ages but remember to try to see it through their eyes too. Maybe that hour long line to get an autograph with your kid is more for YOU than your kid. Maybe let them get the Popsicle instead of the Mickey bar (but I need your pic in front of the castle with...
Our first trip there last summer was 16 nights. I honestly could have stayed another week. We were towing from CT so I wanted to stay and enjoy it and we skipped 2015 in order to go that long (save up money, PTO, etc).
How about watching Wishes (or whatever will be at MK now) barefoot in the sand with a beer and then when its over being back at your "room" minutes later?
Technically my DD is booked with my DM and our DD's friend is in our cabin (under the impression it worked out cheaper that way). We can just switch rooms with my DM but I just want to do it ahead of time so room charges and such aren't confusing (of course we spend way more than my DM so maybe...
