I second what everyone else has said.
It is a very different experience from the other resorts - and that's a good thing!
There are no towels at the pool. I bring my own for pool time.
The canoeing is fun.
Bike path to Wilderness Lodge is very nice.
Golf carts are the BEST! So...
I would choose BC because the dates fall during the Food and Wine Festival. So nice to walk or boat to Epcot - and the Studios. (BC over YC because it is closer to the Epcot gate.) It is also walking distance to Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall for after hours entertainment. There are...
One of the TV channels (maybe 17?) runs Disney cartoon shorts during the day (and Duffy's Bedtime story at night). She would also see Donald, Chip and Dale and Goofy, as well. My TV is usually tuned there during the day. :)
I called the regular reservations line and made my request "Upper Floor, North Side".
I was in Room 6018 - right in the middle of the north wing. (This was not a bunk-bed room.) It had a 'magical' cutout in the trees that was just castle-sized. So, that room has a REALLY good view of the...
I have brought a small tree, window clings, tinsel, stockings, lights, banners (hung between the bedposts). All pack easily and don't take up much room. I have decorated rooms at the Contemporary and at the Wilderness Lodge and bring items that will blend with the decor of the resort. It is...
I have stayed at both. With kids your age, I would definitely go with the Contemporary...for all the reasons mentioned above - especially the pool issue...and the ease of the monorail.
I left my purse with wallet and phone at Mickey's PhilHarmagic. (My credit card and Drivers License were in my pocket, thank goodness.) Call Main Lost and Found when they open in the morning. (The front desk can gicve you the number.) I got EVERYTHING back - all cash, $50 Disney Gift Card...
Paid $12 at Jellyrolls last week. Great show. No AP discount, so likely no DVC discount. Sign outside Dance Hall listed cover of $5; those days are over for me!
It is a very mild, no thrill, nose-to-tail tour through back trails at Fort Wilderness. If you don't ride often, it is quite enjoyable. My party included a young adult, a 9yo and 11yo. It was a coming-of-age adventure for the 9yo.
Your dates fall during the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. Lots of beauty - and extra food kiosks - to behold there. And just a short walk from BC. There are also dining and entertainment options across the lake at the Boardwalk. That said, you can't lose, either way you choose!
I had the same issue with my upcoming trip at 60 days. I could not book FP+ for 7DMT on the first 4 days of my trip, but was able to get them for the last 3 days. The parades, Wishes and Illuminations were also completely booked, though I don't FP+ for those events. Hope there is some...
I am not a fan of the pool parties. The bass from the music is too loud and the microphone is far from magical. When I have taken kids, none were interested. They were quite capable of making their own fun. I was once 'upgraded' to a pool view and will not accept that again. It was not...
I did this last February on a solo trip. Went to Downtown Disney. Used all forms of Disney transportation, including walking. Rode most of my favorite rides, ate my favorite food and went to my favorite stores.
Bus to AK early EMH - rode KS, EE (single rider line), ITTBAB, and PW (Asia...
Fire extinguisher and smoke alarms
Fire-proof box for important papers, shredder, good office supplies (stapler, scissors, markers, tape dispenser)
A bucket or watering can full of gardening tools, rain meter, outdoor thermometer
I always check in before noon. More than half the time, my room has been ready. The most I have ever waited was about 3 hours. I usually do online check-in and they ask your estimated arrival time. I would go with Plan B.
Enjoy!
I've used DME 7 or 8 times. I have had no major issues.
I have had two VERY minor issues. Once, travelling with four people in two rooms, our suitcases were not put in the correct rooms. This was no big deal, as we were next door to each other. Only once was the luggage not delivered...
The best tip I have heard (and I think it was from these boards) is to split the day into thirds.
1/3 - Must Do rides, shows and ADRs
1/3 - Would like to do rides and shows
1/3 - no plans at all - this allows for time to stop and smell the roses, watch street performers (so random, hard to...
I've done the drive from Houston 4 times.
Three times with a driving partner. We stopped for the night in Ocala. Tke kids swam after a long day in the car, and the next morning (after I did early grocery shopping) we headed to WDW and were there by 11.
Last year I drove straight through...
