This Will Be A Sad Vacation...

I went through the same thing with my sister that lived with us. To this day my son misses his Aunt Barbara. She was great, but could not shake her alcohol addiction. It sucks - I'm so sorry for you. I still miss my sister so much. Best, Brando

    Anabella Hotel

It's a bit of a walk, but not bad (as long as you're not coming this weekend - Labor Day - as it will be VERY HOT). Yes, the monorail can be used from Downtown Disney - it would be just after Rainforest Cafe (just as you enter DTD).

    Looking for cheap airfare..Need Help!!!!!

Try biddingfortravel.com This website can give you the best info on where the current rates stand. There is some reading and work, but ultimately, usually worth the effort. In my experience anyway. Good luck! Brando

    Non Disney Restaurants

My husband insists we visit Charley's Steakhouse every visit. They do have excellent quality steaks, without a doubt. We also enjoy Shula's as well. -Brando

    Dining Reviews 2/12 - 2/15

Sorry - don't hate me - but.... it's whether not "weather" (as in if it's raining or not). I hate doing this, but feel it's really important. My sister is currently working on her Doctorate - and still doesn’t know the correct way to write! So I know it's unfortunately a common issue...

    Steakhouse 55 or Mortons's

We've eaten at Granvilles aka Steakhouse 55 plenty of times, We've never eaten at Mortons, but have heard RAVES - to us, Mortons wins, as Steakhouse 55 is just OK and VERY EXPENSIVE for portions recieved. Now, we love it for breakfast when staying on-site, otherwise, unless you have an...

    Incredible Deal to Share....

Not to be a naysayer here, but I live in LA and this may be the difference, and usually use biddingfortravel.com and get the Hyatt Regency for either 40-50.00 per night. Yes they do have parking and taxes so it comes out to about 65-75 per night with everything, but still, great deal for a...

Walt Disney World addict visited Disneyland for the 1st time!

I live in LA and understand what you're saying. It is much more crowded in DL here. Usually we end up at Cali-Adv because of the DL crowds. Disneyworld is so much more spread out, so usually you can do as you please with minimal crowd issues, in LA, "not so much"....(ha-ha)... Even though...

Opinions please? Best ship/cruise? Land or sea first?

I recommend doing the cruise first, then the parks. I know this goes against the grain, so to speak, but getting off the cruise ship and knowing you have more vacation in front of you.....PRICELESS.... We would NEVER cruise after WDW after actually experiencing this, I mean it!

Total cost of owning your house?

Wow, great thread. I'm so jealous. Wish we could have a mortgage! Unfortunately, we live in Los Angeles! Currently we rent, as we have no other option due to the current ridiculous housing costs. (i.e. 1-bedroom in great neighborhood 1700.00 p/m.) We originally lived in Buffalo...

    when to book disneyland californian?

Agree with other posters recommendations. GC is very popular with Californians. Remember there are a lot of people with $$ here and don't mind spending it (just like NYC), so the GC is usually booked up. Reserve early, and then search for better options. My family always loves the Hyatt...

    Really GOOD Coffee???

Well, the BEST coffee served at Disneyland used to be at Granville Steakhouse, but unfortunately, they've decided to change vendors and now it's not the same. They used to serve Dietrich, and it was AMAZING. What they have now is very ordinary. As usual, cost efficiencies rear their ugly...

Are the rooms bigger at GC?

DLH rooms are bigger than GC - But the GC is a much nicer hotel (IMO). Many families love the DLH for nostalgia and the pool area is fun for kids. It really depends upon whether or not money is an issue, and whether or not you prefer a more formal or casual atmosphere. Either hotel is great...
