The Fort in July Pre TR & TR

Last week of July for us!!!! Bring on the heat, I say, as I hide indoors here in GA on a 45-degree windy day in APRIL! We love the long park hours and full operating schedule of the parks during the summer. And also Mama can only enjoy a water park at 95+ degrees!!!

Really, the truth, how bad is the summer?

We like the summer because of long park hours and full operating capacity for rides and shows. July has actually seemed less crowded for us than late September because they actually have both sides of rides running, more showtimes, etc. Have not been in August though. As far as the heat, the...

    Theme park inflation

IMO the park tickets are worth the price. Especially compared to concert tickets, sports events, etc. That's a lot of hours of very exciting entertainment that appeals to all 5 of us! My problem is the cost of the resorts and restaurants. We don't like to stay off-site because we like to be able...

    NO ohana ADR's for sept???

I couldn't even get an ADR at Ohana at 180 + 10 for day 6 of my trip the last week in September.

Who can tell me about Lego Land

Your son will probably think so. We went during Thanksgiving week with our 2 boys, age 4 and 6, and they loved it but I was underwhelmed. Lines were long and it was poorly run compared to Disney. We had the Pepsi promo tickets, so at least it was half off, because I would have felt robbed at...

    Windsor Hills experts, Help Please!

I found a townhome in WH on www.vrbo.com for 5 nights and that was even during spring break. I did have to look through LOTS of listings and email the owners. Wish I could send you a link to that specific one but I don't have it now.....they were listed with Oasis homes though.

    shuttle at WBC

How's the shuttle service to/from the parks at WBC? We will have our car but may need to do some splitting up (older kids stay at parks with one parent while other parent takes the car back with the little one.) I generally like to stay offsite for the value and room but will pay the $$$ for...

    Legoland around Thanksgiving

Also, the crowds were not so heavy that it seemed crowded while walking around (like at DW with heavy crowds) but the problem was with the poor management of the volume of people that were there.

    Legoland around Thanksgiving

We went on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and I was not impressed. Several rides were not running at full capacity which made for long waits (45-60 min) and terribly long food service lines at lunchtime. I heard some other customers who were irate at Brickbeards, so I left the end of the line...

    Touring plan help/advice needed!

We're been on yearly trips with our boys age 4 and 6 and learned a lot......3 hours is not quite enough time for transportation, naps and swimming. Maybe if you count the 3 hours from arrival time back at your condo but not from the point inside the park at which you decide to leave. In our...

Looking for offsite in July for family of 5

If you are looking at hotel rates, any discount offers for those won't come out until a couple months before your trip. Sometimes I book a room at the full rate way in advance just for the peace of mind that I have something, then keep checking the rates to rebook at a lower rate later. I...

What's the best vacation rental or timeshare resort for a Sea World/Legoland trip?

We stayed at Harbour Lake in Sept and it was very relaxing. We have never been to a waterpark so my boys (6 and 3) were blown away by the pool areas. It is right by Seaworld, maybe 1/2 mile with nothing in between. Also right by I-4 but once inside the resort did not feel like we were right...

Hilton Grand Intern. vs. The Fountains

We haven't stayed at any of the HGVC but when we stayed at the Fountains in 2009 the crowd there was kinda rough. I know they offer a lot of free/cheap weekends with timeshare presentations to the general public. The facilities were nice but I would not stay there again due to that factor.

Calling all Annual Passholders: Any regrets?

I wouldn't call it exactly "regret" but I do think we should have bought 10-day non-expire tickets instead. We had two trips planned so I got 4 APs and since then we've crammed in 2 more trips that I felt like we "had to" take to get our money's worth from the APs. Next time we'll get the...

    Anyone left the baby home?

We just got back from a 4 day WDW trip with only the boys (age 3 and 6) and left the baby (11 mo) with the grandparents. She does not like long rides in the car or stroller, so I knew she would have a much better time at their house where she can crawl around and explore to her heart's content...

    FastPass Policy 'Change'?

FWIW, The FP attendant at Kali this morning was announcing to everyone to check the time on their FP and make sure they come back during that time. Hadn't seen that before but maybe he was just trying to be especially helpful?

Souvenir for a 1 year old?

I know the answer to this one, because my one-year old daughter gets left with the grandparents while we take her brothers to DW! The Disney baby plush dolls. They have all the characters as babies with little blankets velcro-attached around them. My daughter loves her Baby Minnie! We got it...

Best Attractions for a 5 1/2 year old boy

We still bring a stroller for our 6 year old son. It's just so much easier to get around more quickly and he needs the break from walking. There are a lot more big kids in strollers at Disney than in "real life" so he's not too embarrassed. With those interests, I would suggest the Lights...
