    Tell Me About Greece

Thanks for your thoughts on Athens. i guess maybe we should have explored it a bit more. My wife and I adored Crete. Porto Elounda Spa and Golf Resort is unreal. From the attentiveness of the staff, to the rooms, to the spectacular views from the terrace, it was nearly perfect. We decided to add...

    Tell Me About Greece

My wife and I just got back from the "Adults Only" Greek Odyssey. This was the 3rd ABD trip we took. We also took the Viva Italia and the Cowboys and Canyons trips. We had a great time. There were 27 members of the group and our Guides, Landon and Mary were awesome. They catered to our every...

    Tell Me About Greece

My wife and I are going on the Greek Odyssey tour next week. Although it is an "adults only" trip, I should be able to give you some thoughts when we get back in October. Everyone I know who have been to Greece say it is amazing. We did the Viva Italia trip 4 years ago, so I am very very excited...

When do the pre-adventure boxes arrive - or have they stopped that?

I am leaving on the adults only Greek Odyssey in 14 days and still have not received my package! I have called ABD 3 times and e-mailed them. They blame the third-party vendor who actually sends out the packages. They have assured me that I will have it before I leave and will overnight mail it...

    First timers- Italy or Greece

My wife and I are scheduled for the "Adults Only" trip next month and we cannot wait. Your experiences only heighten the anticipation. Any tips that you can provide regarding restaurants, things to do during the free time, things to pack, etc. would be greatly appreciated. We are also spending an...

    Greece: Greek Odyssey Meets Thread

I know it is a bit early, but is anyone registered for the Adults Only trip next September? My wife and I have signed up?

    Adult Exclusive vacations

My wife and I have been on 2 adult-only ABD trips. We did the Viva Italia in May, 2010, to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and did the Cowboys and Canyons this past May. They were both incredible in their own right. Italy is a fantastic place and being with a group of one's peers is so...

    Greece: Greek Odyssey Meets Thread

were you impacted at all with the turmoil and unrest that is going on in Greece? Some of the protests appear on television to be fairly serious.

    First timer questions

Good morning. I am a DVC member. My wife and I are thinking about doing an adults only ABD Greek Odyssey in the fall of 2014. I will have enough points for 1 person and partial for the other. I am thinking about renting the balance. Can someone explain to me how that might work. I appreciate any...

    Cowboys & Canyons

Most of the little Native American jewelry stands take cash only. There are a couple of larger ones that will accept credit cards, but I know that cash is preferable to them. Pretty much all other places take credit cards. As for the weather, we were incredibly lucky. We didn't even see a cloud...

    Cowboys & Canyons

My wife and I did lunch at El Tovar. It was very good. We got back to the Thunderbird Lodge at around 11:45 and had an early lunch. The place was empty, except for the ABD folks who had the same idea. this left us a few hours to explore the Grand Canyon on our own and still do the 4:30...

    Cowboys & Canyons

I thought about a detailed trip report, but I don't want to spoil the trip for anyone. I will mention a few things that I hope are helpful. As to photos, there are 2 reasons that I am not going to post: I am "photographically challenged"; and no matter how god the photos are, they just do not do...

    Cowboys & Canyons

Sneakers are fine for hiking. Most people did wear them. Some wore running shoes. I wore an old pair of cross-trainers, which were fine. I did not bring any water shoes, but wore the cross-trainers. They got pretty wet, but were sufficient for the rafting.

    Cowboys & Canyons

T-shirts and shorts are fine. Golf or collared shirts for the dinners are also fine. In fact, unless you go to one of the more upscale restaurants, shirts and t-shirts will probably suffice. As for the the booking of the helicopter tour, we made the arrangements on our own. I think that there...

    Cowboys & Canyons

You picked a great trip for your "maiden" ABD experience. I, too, usually overpack (as I did on this trip). Everything is pretty casual throughout. Bring clothes that you may want to wear more than once. There will be an opportunity to do a wash at the Red Cliffs Lodge (which is what we did)...

    Cowboys & Canyons

There are 2 options for the helicopter trip. There is a 25-30 minute tour and a 45-50 minute tour. We opted for the longer one, since who knows when we would get that opportunity again. While it is a bit more money ( I think about $45/person) for the longer tour, it was well worth it. The view...

    Cowboys & Canyons

The off-road jeep excursion at Enchantment was not bad at all. The one that occurs in Monument Valley is really dusty. I would suggest that you wear the oldest clothes that you bring. BTW, the Enchantment Lodge in Sedona is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. the location, facilities...

    Cowboys & Canyons

Just got back from the adults only Cowboys & Canyons trip. There is only one word to say about it: "Awe Inspiring" (actually that's two words)! This was our first time in that part of the country and it is truly amazing. The Grand Canyon is more beautiful than the photos that we had seen, Arches...

    Cowboys and canyons

3 weeks to the trip and I am really psyched! (I guess I just dated myself with that phrase). Anyone else going on the adults-only trip starting on May 22nd? Anyone who has already taken this, I have a question. Is it worthwhile to bring an old pair of jeans for the "off-road" excursions? I...
