    Cruise in feb/march weather question.

We were on the 3-day Wonder to Nassau last February when Florida was having that record-cold weather. Nassau was about 80 degrees. Then the wind kicked up, the Magic could not leave CC and we could not get in. It was a chilly and windy day at sea, I'm guessing about 60-65 degrees.

    Khaki Shorts at dinner???

In my one cruise on the Wonder, I have to say that I didn't notice anyone particularly dressed up or down in any of the dining rooms, though we skipped dress-up night. I thought the dining rooms were on par with a nice restaurant off-ship and you see plenty of people in casual attire in even the...

Which method of transportation would be best for us?

If you're getting in at 11 am, I think you'd be bored with 22 hours at the MCO Hyatt. You should rent a car, go to the value resort, hang out at pool and DTD, drive the car to the port the next day. If you time it right, you'd only have a one-day, one-way rental.

1st Timers... what should we do?

We did not have a plane to catch upon disembarkation, but we did have a 6:45 am flight a few days later. Even though we stayed at the Hyatt at the airport and left the hotel by 5:30, we only got to our gate a few minutes before boarding. We had a bag to check and we had to get boarding passes...

And yet another Wonder meets Magic horn duet video

Here's my version, just posted last night. We were at Ron Jons after Wonder cruise, and this is taken from the balcony. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI3PBXsaTqQ

    Lowest price for Hyatt MCO

We got it for $69 + tax (about $85 total) recently on Hotwire. Awesomely convenient for an early morning flight home. For our date the price didn't go down until about 2 or so weeks beforehand.

    Are the pools heated?

And they're nice and warm. The kids pools are mobbed, even when it's cold out. I swam in the adult pool in gale winds and 50-something temps a couple weeks ago and was quite comfortable (until I got out!).

The 7-Night Turned 8-Night Extravaganza Aboard The Magic 2/6-2/14

I was on the Wonder that couldn't dock at CC on Saturday. I was very disappointed to miss the day at the beach:sad2:. I didn't realize how intense the weather was despite the rocking and rolling of the ship and the stiff winds on Deck 9. We were warned at the show Friday night that we might not...

    cost of getting hair styled

Can someone tell me the price of hair-braiding for kids? And where do you get it done? (on Wonder, not at port in Nassau.) Thanks.

    Traveling as Single parent

I'm taking my 2 kids on Wonder while DH goes to Daytona. I am more worried about them wanting to spend all their time with new friends at Oceaneers Lab and leaving me to eat and see shows alone! But my kids are 10; I would be more worried about handling everything myself if they were younger.

Has anyone gotten Hyatt MCO via priceline?

Thanks to the poster who advised looking at page 2 on Hotwire for TripAdvisor star rating. The 4* at MCO that had been listed for $185 was down to $69 today for 2/17 so I checked the second page, saw the 4.5* TA rating, and booked and got the Hyatt. You can't imagine how much stress this...

    Travelex Travel Basic

I'm interested in this because I got travel insurance for the first time for our upcoming Florida vacation, which includes 3-day Wonder for DH, me and DD 10 and DS 10. It was $126 from Access America and I had estimated our trip at $4,000 (I do a lot of Priceline/Hotwire no transer, no cancel...

Has anyone gotten Hyatt MCO via priceline?

I really want the MCO Hyatt Regency for our post-cruise, pre-flight!! But for the date I want on Hotwire, the four star is $185! And it could be the Renaissance. Anyone have any tips? Should I just wait till the last minute?

    place to stay after cruise

We're trying Ron Jon's for three nights post mid-Feb. cruise. The reviews on Trip Advisor are all over the place, some people love it, some hate it. One of the basic issues I think is that it really is more like renting a condo -- it's not a hotel, no maid service, room service -- but we like...

Shark at Castawy Cay - UPDATED with pictures

Thanks for the reply. That's the same week our friends were there :). My kids will be like your DD. They want to be brave but ... Can any recent Castaway Cay visitors give me a jellyfish report?

Looking to save $? Don’t cut servers tips. Other ideas below. Please add yours!

As a first-time cruiser, I'm glad to see there's as many frugal travelers as I am. I guess I had the idea that cruisers were big spenders. I got a great deal on the 2/11 3-day Wonder, kids sail free, cat 12 (upgraded to 9) that I booked at Thanksgiving. We're flying on the cheapest days of the...

Shark at Castawy Cay - UPDATED with pictures

I really want to take my 2 10-year-olds snorkeling on CC but if they hear "Sharks!" it'll never happen. They are already making noises about not swimming because a friend of theirs saw jellyfish there in November. Can anyone give me a report on recent jellyfish activity, or non, at CC? Thanks!

Any recent Cat 12 cabin assignments?

We are on the 2/11 Wonder, booked 1 adult, 2 kids, category 12 gty, and were assigned category 9, way back by the engine, I think, but with a window! I'm happy!
