**ROFR Thread 2014 JAN-JUNE** UPDATE to thread on PG 71!!

I'm pretty sure I'm the seller in this transaction, and while financially it doesn't technically make a difference to sellers whether contracts get ROFR'd or not, I'm really hoping this passes for you and the points go on to another Disney-loving family that will use them to make great memories...

Webcast? Are you able to watch it past 1:32min mark?

I've got the same problem. It stops at 1:31 and picks up again around 9:30, skipping all the stuff I cared about seeing. And there doesn't seem to be a phone number or email for support. Edit: I'm also in Michigan, so maybe they have regional servers for the video and ours has an issue?

    Membership cards

I guess the batch thing makes sense. We closed on 11/17 and received ours on Monday.

Shooting for a 2BR for a week in April of 2013. Can't wait to see the first reviews.

Artist Point Chefs de France Flying Fish I'm going to Le Cellier, Cali Grill and Jiko for the first time in January, so we'll see what happens to the list after that.

    Questions regarding booking last minute

Admittedly, I'm a rookie at this (been a member for 2 weeks), but I had 220 points that were expiring today (11/30) that I didn't have access to until 11/24. Even WITH the holiday weekend, I was able to use 180 of them to book a studio at SSR for 2 nights, a 1BR at OKW for 2 nights and a 1BR at...

    Resale > Direct from Disney?

No, it was a modest contract (220 points) but evidently the original purchasers divorced a few years back and there was a quit-claim deed to transfer the contract to the ex-wife and a handful of other family members (children or grand-children maybe?). Thankfully, they all agreed that they'd...

    buying resale-do you negotiate?

You can counter, but keep in mind, you also have the risk of ROFR to contend with, and that, if nothing else should make you keep your offer fair.

Cost you Points to Change Reservations??

You might want to check your Activity Statement on DVCMember.com to exactly what got booked and for how many points. I'm pretty sure that's what MS is looking at when you call.

    Resale > Direct from Disney?

Because there's the added steps of the offer being made, then accepted, then sent to Disney for ROFR, then getting signed documents from the buyer and signed/notarized for the seller(s). Finally the transaction is closed and it takes a week or so for Disney to get you "into the system" and get...

    2011 Planning DVDs

I received the 2011 DVD yesterday (Let the Memories Begin). Personally, I think it's a disappointment (it is completely new, though). We had my in-laws over and wanted to show them the different resorts. This DVD doesn't have a separate clip for each resort. There's a 1-2 minute clip for...

How did you buy--location, price, or year?

Bought for location. Especially with all of the rumors going around about resale points being restricted, it's a better idea than ever to buy where you want to stay. For me, that's VWL.

Please help:should I purchase the TIW card??

I've used the DxDP, and will be using TIW for my next trip. Running the numbers, it looks like you can save ~20% either way, but I like the flexibility of TIW over the dining plan.

Ever flown in just for a day?

Prior to 2001, I'd consider doing a same-day trip. Nowadays, not a chance. Security scans, pat-downs, etc, are not worth the hassle for one day.

SIAP: how long is the DVC presentation?

Honestly, save your time. You'll learn more on this and other forums.

Anyone know what the giveaway is if you sit through a sales pitch??

My wife and I toured BLT in February and didn't get squat for it. Unless you count a hard sell ("this incentive will only last until the end of your trip, if you wait until after that, you'll pay full price"), and dubious information ("don't even consider buying SSR resale, it's a lousy resort...

    Free wifi?

This is the approach I took on my last trip, using this router. It's less than $50. You can set it up and test it at home, then throw it in your luggage. The carrying case is about the size of a paperback book.

    Changing Deed

I think it will just involve a Quit Claim Deed, yes, it will need ex-hubby's signature, no, I don't think you necessarily need a lawyer.
