I just rented from Thrifty in South Florida. Always rented from Avis in the past. Thrifty was great. If you belong to any organizations they probably have predetermined prices without blackout dates. That what I experienced with my membership in the AICPA.

You should get the Starwood American Express card. Using points at the Swan is so easy and the fifth night is free. Much better deal than airline points. 10k points per night and no blackouts.

I have stayed at the Dolphin and Swan about 5 times with my family. Last year we bought a dvc timeshare and stayed at Kidani Village. The family wanted to kill me. They want to stay at the Swan. You just can't beat the dining options and location.

I have herniated disc. Lots of pai at times. Started Yoga and made a huge difference. I recommend it to all with pain.

If you the family doesn't have big eaters, I would pass on the plan. Unless its free.

Last time I stayed at Swan I was a Starwood Gold member and my kids got to eat for free for every meal. It was a great deal.

Thers is a fairly good seafood buffet at the Beach Club called Cape May something. Check it out.

I have bben to Disney many times. Dining at Dolphin or Swan is the best. They are not part of the Disney dining program and are all run privately. Food quality is the best and prices are the fairest.

I own at BLT. Have not stayed there yet. I stayed at Kidani. Huge two BR. But no quickmeal restaurants. Real bad planning. Needed to go to Jamba House. A real pain. Is it a quick walk to Contemporary from BLT?

It seems to me you don't get much value for your points towards a cruise. I did the math and it came out to a value of 6 or 7 dollars. Am I crazy or is that correct?

I bought the insurance last year for peace of mind. I was surprised to find the value they place on the points is fairly low. I think it was around $7 per point if you need to make a claim. Ask them when you call. However they also insure your flights fairly inexpensively and at the time...

It seems you're right. My research shows points are worth more using inside DVC> If you can, I think its better to turn them to cash and then plan to stay wherever you wish. Enjoy.
