Who has made the move to FL?

Can I ask which town you live in? We are about 2 years out from hubby retiring from the military and are researching areas for our forever home. You can private message me if you would prefer.

Best price for otter box defender for iPad mini?

I'm not sure about the new style OtterBox, but when I had one it did not come with a screen protector and they had to replace it 2x when it broke. We now have Griffin Survivors and they are much better then OtterBox for iPads IMO.

    Anyone "wear" their TODDLER??

I also have an ergo that I plan on bringing for my son when we go to WDW in Jan, he will turn 3 in March. Sometimes it is so much easier to wear little ones on our back.

    Kindle question

My hubby, oldest DD and myself all have regular kindles, DD number 2 has a Fire. When we purchase books you have to pick which device they go to, we also have the app on iPads and phones listed on our account and can chose those as well. I'm not fond of the carousal feature on the Fire because...

Help with reducing the cable bill....

We went cable free earlier this year and bought an antenna for less then $20 for local channels. It isn't the rabbit ears you are thinking of, it is flat, wall mountable and paintable antenna and works great! We also have Apple TV so W can stream from our Mac or iPads and Roku. I don't like...

Cell phone experts - which would you choose?

Right you can do that on other android devices. He already has Apple devices so he would have to buy any apps he has already paid Apple for again to have them on an android device. You can't download an Apple app to an android device.

Cell phone experts - which would you choose?

What I like about Apple is once you buy an app you can put it on so many devices, same with music. If you get him an android based app, he will have to re-purchase his must have apps, and he will not be able to sync up his stuff. I love that I can put something in the calendar on my iPad and...

Off-Topic: Advice from parents with August children?

One of my DD's turned 5 at the end if Sept and we chose to hold her back from Kindy this year even though she is eligible. It was a no brainer decision because while she has the intelligence she doesn't have the maturity. No way could I of even contemplated this before this past year when it was...

    Ease my mind, WDW pros?

My hubby is AD and we are using the tickets and staying on property using the military discount. For us, the military discount is the much better deal then free dining. To get free dining, we would have to buy a 2 day park ticket and no room discount. I have messed around with the numbers a...

    Build-A-Bear Budget?

The coupon insert we get in the paper will have coupons for BAB occasionally and if you sign up for their email newsletter, you may get some. $50 is a good place to start, but like someone else posted, budgets tend to go out the window at BAB here too lol. Mine had to have a bed and the brush...

Kids Tablet - Help me pick one

My kids have iPads and Griffin Survivor cases. They aren't easy on them, but the cases are awesome and so far nothing has happened to them and they've had them for over a year now. I had an Otterbox and unless they have changed, I would not buy another one. The case cracked and there is no...

    Double vs single stroller

I have 4 kiddos, the first trip with kids, my oldest was 5 and then I had about an 18 month old. We had a double stroller, it held the 5 year old and our stuff, I wore the 18 month old on my back. Next trip, we had the first 2 and baby was 17-18 months, again a double stroller but I wore the...

    ~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

We were GF for a year and potatoes and rice were not something we had to worry about, both of those are naturally GF. Since yours is for thyroid issues, it may be different, but as a whole both are ok to the normal GF person. We didn't eat out much, but when we did we didn't have issues find...

    Roku?? and cutting DirectTV

I know some colleges offer streaming of all their sports for a fee. Apple TV has an espn app, but we don't watch sports so I haven't checked it out. I'm not sure sports wise what channels Roku offers. Just an FYI, Apple TV also has MLB, NBA, NHL, and MLS channels. No idea if you can watch...

    Roku?? and cutting DirectTV

We got rid of directv last winter and haven't missed it. I did pay a cancellation fee, but it was much, much less then I thought it would be. We have both Roku and Apple TV, along with a PS3 and antennas. If you had one on your roof, there is a way to hook it in where the dish hooks into the...

Spent a couple of hours, whacked $800 off the year's budget!

Call Directv, their CS is great. I would call and ask about any deals for current subscribers and would get at least $10 off for so many months and free channels. Some times I got a better deal, but I was happy with anything.
