Re: WPM - How Much Harm Can Be Inflicted?

Tell them that the chances of any chemical or biological attack affecting them personally is extremely small--much smaller than the risks of getting in a car accident.

    God OUT! Porn IN?

Just for grins, I took a look at Arizona State's course catalog http://www.asu.edu/aad/catalogs/courses/#h I couldn't find anything too spicy--nothing really--although I didn't search every category. I will note that they had plenty of religion classes. The bottom line is that a large...

    Automobile turn signals

I think most people just don't care, but some older drivers (like my parents) don't automatically use turn signals--they decide if anybody "needs" to see the turn signal. As a result, they often forget to use the signal when they really should. For me, it's so automatic I don't even think...

    A question

I can understand that people think we are better off without Clinton--I agreed with him on many issues, but his personal behavior sullied the White House. But if we had a potted plant as President, we'd still have that improvement in our lives. Financially, my family is much worse off than...

If we ran the Disney Stores

I wonder about this. Many of the things you are asked for were typical of the Warners stores, and aren't they all gone? What if they had a catalog--maybe an onscreen one, with human help--so you could order stuff, and they wouldn't have to stock it all?

    name the play

My son enjoyed Les Miserables when he was about 6. I wouldn't worry about the prostitution scene too much, although you might have to explain it. You might explain how said it was that Fantine was placed in that awful position--in the book, she also has to sell her teeth.

    name the play

The first one is the Scottish Play. People in the theater never refer to it by that other name because it's bad luck. "Life's but a poor player, who struts and frets its hour upon the stage It is tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Tell me about Discovery Cove--have you gone???

For what it's worth--I think the dolphin swim is so much fun that nobody should pass it up in order to take pictures from the shore--which is pretty far, as somebody said. The pictures they take are pretty good, and were enough (for us, anyway).

    The lockers are locked.

    Discovery Cove is AWESOME!

We felt it was worth every penny, and it was also a highlight of our trip

DC with a 4 yr old?

I think it would be tough to take a kid there who couldn't do the dolphin swim--if possible, I would wait until everybody can do it. You might consider splitting up that day--one parent stay with the 9-year-old (both can do the dolphin swim, then)--and let the other parent go somewhere else...

Tell me about Discovery Cove--have you gone???

It's worth every penny of the cost. That's the highest praise I can give.

    1st time at Discovery Cove

Although DC is great, we found that by midafternoon we were ready to go. Also, it began to rain, and there was a rush to pick up pictures, return equipment, etc. I would say play it by ear, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to try to hit SW after DC.

LandBaron’s “what if” game: Pearl Harbor Opens Theatrically Dec. 7th 2001!!

Does anybody else think it might have gone over better if the title had been something other than "Pearl Harbor?" (Something focusing more on what the movie was actually about, like, I dunno, "Into Danger," or something.)

    Bus manners

A few points: 1. Manners are not always logical. While it may not be logical for a tired man to give up his seat to an able-bodied woman, in the past (and it the present in some places) this is considered one of the commonplace requirements of good manners. I've seen very elderly men offer...

What To Take In Your Carry On?

Well, when I was a youth we used to make flamethrowers out of spray cans by holding up a match to the nozzle--or maybe they are concerned the can might contain Mace or something like that.

What To Take In Your Carry On?

With respect to the medicine, make sure that you carry it in the container that shows the prescription--don't transfer it to an unmarked container.

Age restrictions at DC for dolphijn swim, will they ask for proof of age

Let me add a bit to this. The water is deep and cold, and anybody doing this should be a good swimmer. My daughter was seven when we did it, and although she is a good swimmer, it was a challenge for her. (You do wear a swim vest, but I still think you should be able to swim reasonably well.)

    Dolphin swim

I think an adult will have to stay with the 5-year-old while others in the family do the swim. She will be able to see what is going on, but I don't think she'll be able to get very close. You might be able to have a little bit of interaction at Sea World in the dolphin area.

can you do both parks in one day?

We did both parks in one day, but we were staying at HRH and got Express access to all the rides--and we didn't do the coasters.
