2017 Gay Days @ the Walt Disney World Resort

Thanks for the reminder. It's not likely we'll actually make it down there in time due to how long of a day that is. Plus, after sitting over the engine all day in the Florida heat, you'll definitely want me to take time to shower before hanging out with you all night.

2017 Gay Days @ the Walt Disney World Resort

Jumping in here, I think there have been some excellent points. Hotel preference is subjective to what you're comfortable with... both price and comfort-level. I will say, if you're staying on property, the resorts are all unique, but none are actually bad. I don't like the Grand Floridian, but...

2017 Gay Days @ the Walt Disney World Resort

Hey everyone! Wanted to jump in and re-introduce myself. I haven't been on the Dis much at all for several years, so I don't recognize many faces/names on the board. I live in Charleston, SC and my first Gay Days was 2004 -- I've been most years since then. It has turned into one of my favorite...

    cd visiting for gay days

I'm not sure if the policy has changed, but in the past cross dressing was considered being in costume and Disney doesn't allow that in the parks. "Only cast members are allowed to be in costume." I'm not the authority on that, though. Maybe someone else will have an answer.

    Which would you pick?

I've seen that tent without the whole package for about half that price. I think it's an excellent deal for such a huge cabin tent.

    Camping Next Week!

Thanks! I'll actually be at The Fort, but a very low key trip. A buddy wanted to camp, I said sure... and the rest is history. I have a feeling there will be a lot of kungaloosh and what not and so forth.... more than a lot if it rains the whole week. I'm beyond ready!

    Camping Next Week!

I go away to Northern California for two weeks, don't check the Dis and look what happens. Wow. So, 5 days in a tent in February in the rain. Am I crazy? I'm not worried about the temps, but it looks like rain for several of the days. I've got the easy up, a few extra tarps, waterproofed the...

    Popup Buying Question

I've spent a lot of time on RV trader. Their iPhone/iPad app is much better than the website, for me at least, and really lets me search around based on areas, price ranges, etc. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase. I'm not opposed to buying from a dealer, but I know how they...

    Popup Buying Question

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I'm pretty handy, actually, so I don't mind a little tlc... I do, however, mind a rotting box. Also, great advice about the jacks (leveling and for changing a tire). I've been stranded on the side of the road in a fleet vehicle before that had a missing...

    Popup Buying Question

Happy New Year everyone! So, I've really enjoyed camping and the people I've met. I've also had a really good time with friends who actually enjoy camping. Who knew it could be so much fun? I finally settled on buying a used popup. I really think it's a great place to start and what works...

    Now this is disrespect

As you're aware, I had the similar experience in the 2000 loop in November. Doors slamming, kids screaming, car horns going off - all in the middle of the night (you should have heard it during the day). It always seemed like the other loops were a lot quieter when I was over there. I was...

    Empty Sites at the Fort

Hey Everyone... Just my $0.02 worth. I usually head north and spend NYE with friends in the Charlotte area, but I decided that I didn't want to do that this year. As an alternative, I thought I'd check the Fort... not that I'd ever got a NYE reservation. WRONG I could have any site type...

Finally Home from the Fort: Trip Report to Follow

OK, the real final full day. I have to make this one up as I go along. It looks like I never took time to write it up. Well, I bought a heater on Friday which means the low that night was about 70. haha. No heat needed. So be it. I woke up around 8 and it was nice out. From Front of...

Finally Home from the Fort: Trip Report to Follow

I've been negligent in finishing this up. I do apologize! Day 6 Friday, November 19 This was supposed to be my last full day, so I wanted to do a few things I hadn't done yet. I also didn't have anything else to cook, so that meant I got to eat out. I returned the cart and went back...

LF: Service to transport and set up/take down RV in Orlando

Once you've lived "here" for 30 years, it does seem to lose its appeal! There are some great parks up on Lake Murray that I enjoy, but my parents have an older camper I could use there... Plus, it's not the Fort! Hmm, I knew this was going to come down to me being compared to an elderly...

LF: Service to transport and set up/take down RV in Orlando

I'm curious to hear what you find. I've been looking at travel trailers - and I have a feeling I'd mostly use it at the Fort. Certainly nowhere around here. There are great deals to be had in this economy, but I have zero interest in buying a giant truck to tow one right now. It just isn't...
