    Exit Ramp from World Drive

At this point in time, the signage is not great as you approach this point. The sign that indicates Fort Wilderness is to the right is well after the "All resorts to the left" sign. Be sure you stay to the right to avoid an accidental tour of the other resorts.

    Atlanta Labor Day Friday Traffic

I second HopperFan's excellent post. The only exception I would have is using the I-285 bypass. It is the truck route and if anyone stubs their toe at all the backups are monumental. We live in Cartersville, just north of Atlanta, and are often pulling a 38 foot trailer to Florida (or Tybee...

What car service to use for our daughter?

IMO it really depends on how you feel you daughter can handle herself. I have 3 (adult) daughters and I've had similar decisions to make on several occasions. If she can/will act professionally, not flirt with the driver, dress conservatively, etc. she should be fine whatever the public mode...

Just back...new extra magic hours is a joke!

Have to agree - not fond of EMH in the evening the way they work now. They are not really "park open hours", they are "park kinda open hours". Besides the crowds and lines, leaving the MK was a real challenge. The only way to the TTC or any of the monorail resorts was the resort monorail and...

I-75N in Georgia a disaster area!!!

If you are going to travel through GA (either way) - take a look at http://www.georgianavigator.com before you leave. They also have some options for texting alerts to you phone. My parents came up through the traffic on Friday and we did on Saturday. They got off 75 and tried back roads (41...

    extra magic hour (evenings)

Picture ID's for everyone and even ID's for the kids, eh? They even ask you to leave the park if you can't produce a picture ID? This must be just when the retina scanner is down. ;) Honestly, I have alway's followed the rules (except, maybe using on old refillable mug :rolleyes1 ) but...

    Florida Resident Discounted tickets

I don't think Rugratsmom was intending to cheat. I believe she was asking if Fla residents or AP holders could buy discounted tickets for family that are not residents or AP holders. I thought AP holders could do that at one time but I cannot find it. Matt

Help! Need other alternatives for drive down. Valdosta booked solid Sat!

Tifton is good if you want to stop short of Valdosta. Lake City, FL is good if you want to drive a little farther. I'm sure others have had good experiences there but, personally, I'd avoid Adel.

What happened to the reservation lines?

After being messed up by an uncaring, incompentent, or just inexperienced CM a few times, if I don't feel confident they are going to be able to help me properly, I'll end the call after a quick price check or at any point after that if I don't feel it's going well. If you don't feel it's right...

Is In-Line Skating Permitted at Resorts?

I've seen folks skating between boardwalk and MGM numerous times. They also rent surry bikes to ride around the lake at BW so you may be able to skate there too (as laurabell suggests). They rent surry bikes at the WL too - could be there as well.

    Electric cooler in the room

Nothing suprises bell services. Nothing. I've heard of folks that bring real refrigerators. Standing out front of the AKL some time back killing some time waiting for a ride and chatting with the folks there, one of the bellmen told me of a middle eastern prince that had truckloads of...

    Dining at Atlanta Airport

As for amusement: Not a lot of real choices here for the little ones. Usually the problem our little ones have (or had) is way, way to much energy. Already being excited about WDW and flying, having just had to sit still for an extended period and about to again, they will need some bounding...

Driving through Georgia? Get the scoop!

If you are driving through GA to get to WDW, here is a resource you can use: http://www.georgia-navigator.com this is to GA DOT's site and has some pretty good stuff. DOT is warning us that they are going to be doing a bunch of off hour and weekend construction this summer. Take a look...

    New MK Fireworks Exit strategy

We did this last month. Watch from your favorite spot inside the MK. When it's over, leave and board one of the boats to one of the MK resorts. There is hardly ever a significant line and you can pick the shortest. We got right on during spring break (very peak crowds). Ride to the resorts...

was there once a boat from Polynesian to Fort Wilderness?

BTW - you can still get to the Poly from FW - you just need to stop by the Magic Kingdom first. Riding the boats from resort to resort is one of the great freebies. Eating dinner at one of the MK resorts then riding the boat to the Poly to watch the fireworks is one of my favorite things...

7 Days with 3 small kids - What order to see parks?

Agreed with what's been said: Take it easy and let the kids set the pace. Don't plan on seeing everything. If you are staying on site - take some time in the middle of the day and chill by the pool. Remember your there to have a good time and not ride all of the rides. It will be great...

    FL resident pass

Anyone that considers themselves a Florida Resident, whether they live in the state or not, should get themselves a Florida ID card or "Florida Only" Drivers license. You don't need to live there year round or give up your license from your home state. All we had to do was give them our info...

    How about Nextel reception?

I concur - our Nextel's worked great. Direct Connect is perfect for Disney. We had several folks think they were FRS radio's and ask where we got them. The only dead spot we found was in It's a Bugs Life (and the preshow area).

Difficulty obtaining PSs for an unexpected trip?

We tried to get PS's at Chef Mickey's last wednesday (4/9) but could not. Since that's exactly where we wanted to eat, we just showed up at about 6:45 (all 9 of us!) and were seated within 10 minutes at a great table. Of course I'm sure there are a thousand horror stories to counter this.

we will be getting up at 4:00 am

We've done something like this several times. For us, a nap is a good idea. Best time for as is right when we get in the room even before we unpack. After all of the effort of getting there and finally being in the room - we all lay down (including the twin 7 year olds) put the TV on one of...
