I just talked to MagicBand support yesterday, and this was one of my questions as well. The CM I spoke to assured me that there would not be any issues with upgrading to APs once we are on site.

asudol, can you tell me what number you called for MDE support? I'd like to do the same thing you've done to try to ensure we get our customized bands when we check in, but I can't find a number on the website specifically for MDE support.

We are checking into POR on September 24 and I was given the option to customize MagicBands. It showed a deadline of August 24, and I was able to select colours for all the people in our party. I guess we will have to wait and see if they actually ship them.
