OMG - best tip EVER! Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely be trying this for our upcoming trip.

    HalloweenTime at DLR Superthread #4

Jack and Sally definitely makes sense for today since the HM re-opens with the NBC overlay. I will be in the parks Mon & Tues - hope to see Jack & Sally while I am there :-D

Rumor: Next Tuesday is the last day for the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich

I just sent a note to them as well. I am sure it will just go into a pile somewhere - but I have really been underwhelmed with their support for gf dining. I have spoken with Dining, Special Diets, reservations etc - all I get is the company line of "make a reservation wherever you want to go...

    Park crowds throughout the day?

I know a number of folks tend to head back to their hotels for a break during some point in the day. Is there a time of day when the park crowds seem to wane a bit? We may take a break too, but being adults with no kids, we aren't subject to typical kid schedules (eat at noon etc) - so I'd like...

    In Room Celebrations

How would I go about setting this up to be in room at arrival? Do I call the hotel directly and work with room service? Or is this also through Disney Celebrations, but just not on their list? I want to do a celebration, but most of their packages include items that we have no use for (they...

What's in YOUR "day at DL" bag?

So I go pretty minimalist - one of the perks of not travelling with kids :-) Usually either a wallet on a string (the kind that can go either crossbody or on wrist) or a small crossbody bag (something like the Vera Bradley hipster) Wallet on string: phone cash/cards/ID Chapstick/lipgloss...

Little Leota is definitely my favorite - always and forever!

$500 a night and no running water. Updated with news on page 5

Just wanted to give a tip to folks - ALWAYS book directly with hotels, airlines etc if possible. I have family in the travel industry and YES it is standard with MANY travel agency bookings (including the likes of those from web agencies like travelocity etc) that refunds are not able to be...

    Parkhoppers for first time visitors?

So just some more info - we are 2 adults, no kids. Also, I'm a WDW vet so I am fairly confident that I can quickly acclimate to hopping at DLR. I went ahead and upgraded to hoppers and at this point I am thinking it will be worth it. 1. It was $80 to upgrade for both days (didn't ask if it...

    Amazing ride on BTMRR tonight!

I have done this in WDW several times. Fireworks, parades, major shows (F! etc) are often great times to get some quality ride time. The lines tend to be pretty short since everyone is gathered up watching the entertainment.

Gluten Free Spots in Downtown Disney

I don't know about DTD specifically, but there is a superthread that covers all kinds of GF dining throughout the resort/parks. http://www.disboards.com/threads/gluten-free-dining-at-the-disneyland-resort-a-superthread.3003289/ From what I have read so far, they no longer have specifically...

Most accurate crowd calendar for Disneyland

I've always found Touring Plans.com to be very accurate for WDW. This is my first trip to DL and for our days in the parks (9/14 &9/15) it is also showing 2 & 3. I am hoping that holds true. But I have also heard that Touring Plans can be less accurate for DL since their core business is WDW...

    Parkhoppers for first time visitors?

I need some expert DL advice. We are visiting the parks on Sept 14 & 15th (Monday and Tuesday). If my research and planning is right, then crowd volume should be relatively low those days (early sept, weekdays etc). As of now we have single day tickets. The first 2 reservation agents agreed...

To EMH or NOT to EMH - that is the question

Sorry - I worded that wrong. We will be in the actual parks the Monday and Tuesday the WEEK after labor day. Arrive on the 13, parks 14th and 15th, return home 16th. But your advice makes sense. Since they haven't yet actually released the park schedules, I am just assuming EMH is going to...

To EMH or NOT to EMH - that is the question

So our trip is Sept 13-16 will be in parks Mon & Tues after labor day - so hoping for lower crowds. Question is this, should we take advantage of EMH (we are staying at DLH)? I have heard 2 theories... 1. Always take advantage of EMH because you can get much more done in that hour 2. Do...

Here's What We Accomplished in One Day at DL

Thank you for sharing this! Our first trip is the 2nd week of Sept and I was hoping we'd be able to ride pretty much this same list but without repeats in one day (as we only have one day at each park) - and not feel like we were running ourselves exhausted. This makes it seem like that should...

Disneyland 60th Anniversary Merchandise "Sparkles" in Stores

Has anyone seen any minnie headbands other than the one pictured in the link above? I have seen pics of people wearing ones that are all silver and also silver with a dark blue bow - wasn't sure if those were official DL or etsy.

Gluten Free Dining at the Disneyland Resort: A Superthread

We are planning on making a grocery stop between LAX and DLH. What is the best grocery store along that route with the most GF options?

    HalloweenTime at DLR Superthread #4

So does this mean it is safe to assume that Space Mountain and HM will be open with their overlays by the 11th? We planned our first trip to DL for the 13-16th hoping for lower crowds, but I'd hate for either of those to be closed on our trip.

Must have apps for DL trip

Hi All! What are the must have apps for a DL trip? Seems like there are a ton of WDW apps but not so much for DL. What do you recommend? (we are android folks in this house, so hopefully that's an option)
