    Trip Report 6-12 through 6-19-23

We just did 5 days at Disneyland with a travel day on each end, for a total of 7 days. As a family we've been doing DIsneyland trips (and a couple WDW) since 2008, so we've learned a lot of lessons and made sure that we did everything right. Travel: Flew into SNA for the first time on a...

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

We booked several months ago and got a 2 queen room in an Ariel building because that was all that was open, but on arrival they didn't have a room ready for us, and we ended up in a Cars suite in building 2 (the Wheel Well). The suite was out of our price range so we didn't complain! It was...

    Pizza Port Soda Refills?

They used to let you refill your beverage one time by showing your receipt (and they would then circle or cross out the drink so you couldn't do it again). Did this end? The girl said she didn't know anything about refills, and wanted to charge me another $3.69. I told her no thanks and...

Getting to N and Out Burger

Eek...we drove to get In N Out Burger the other night (leaving when California Adventure closed). It took 15 minutes of driving to get there, and about 13 to get back. That was the one on State College Blvd. There is one straight down Harbor Blvd and Orangethorpe. The ART may go near that...

    2014 Graduation Mickey Ears

I remember a bunch of them in Star Trader, so I'm sure they had them all over the park. I noticed a lot of the grads had both their names and their upcoming college stitched onto the hat.

Third trip on AP's just under the wire...

Last July we upgraded our Disney trip to AP's, returned on December 31st (watched New Years fireworks from the plaza since it was a blackout date) mostly to see Christmas stuff before it was down (including the Mansion overlay which rocked). Our third trip was the 17th to 22nd. Our passes...

Just can't justify it... staying onsite

We stayed at DLH the first time we came with the kids, so they could have the experience, but since they took the monorail out of the hotel, you don't really save much walking time anymore, which would be my main motivation. We'd rather save the $1200-ish and stay across the street.

Tropicana!! Great service & NEW RATE!

I thought I had read the WiFi wasn't free, but when we stayed there 12-29 they gave me the WiFi password when I checked in and there was no charge. We didn't have a car this time, but it was obvious it was set up for Valet.

Jedi Academy - Tips & Highlights

On our first trip we went through three sessions and they weren't picked! I even chatted up a CM after the first two snubs. It almost ruined the trip (the kids were only 6 and 4yrs old at the time). They were pretty upset. Once I read about the T-Shirts on here, we have done JTA 4 times...

    grayline vs. supershuttle vs. taxi

We ended up doing Supershuttle last time and we were pretty happy with it. At the airport we had to wait about 15mins for our Shuttle to come, but the trip to the Tropicana went faster than normal so it was all good. On the return to the airport, the check out time at the hotel was 11am...

    Pirates queue meets Haunted queue

Someone on MiceChat posted this pic. I don't know if they allow hotlinking, but here it is:

how much is food a day?

I'd like to echo what everyone said about bringing snacks. We brought all kinds of crackers, almonds, trail mix, granola bars, and we each had a bottle of water per day. They were a good way to pass the time in the longer lines (RSR and Toy Story Mania). It also made room in our suitcases...

    Hotel question

We've tried most of the hotels along the strip. They all have positives and negatives, but we were surprised how much we enjoyed the Tropicana. The room was large, the beds were comfy (and we're Sleep Number bed people so usually hotel beds just kill us) and the WiFi was fast. The minus is...

    Pirates queue meets Haunted queue

That was the weird thing. The park itself didn't have the wall to wall people feeling I've had during previous visits (like when the new Fantasmic debuted a few years ago, but those lines touching like that was just something I'd never seen before.

    Pirates queue meets Haunted queue

Today the the Pirates queue was so extended that it was brushing up against the Haunted Mansion extended queue. I'd never seen anything like it. They even had half the bridge taken up with a loopback on the far end, and it went all the way down about even with the train station on the other...

    wifi at Disneyland?

If you are in California Adventure near the Grand Californian, you can pick up their WiFi signal pretty well. We were waiting for the kids to go on Grizzly River Rapids a few times as the park was closing and I was able to easily kill the time with the WiFi.

I Survived NYE at the DLR!

We had the blackout date for NYE, but I walked into the plaza to watch the fireworks at midnight. Couldn't believe it was coming from three directions. It was really cute to hear a little boy on his dad's shoulders yell to his dad "Over there Daddy, NO! Over there! No, OVER THERE!" and his...

    Ride seating for big guys

I'm 6'7" 350, so I'm among the larger people I see walking around Disneyland, hehe. The rides I cannot fit on at all are Goofy's Sky School and Space Mountain. On Space Mountain it's because they switched from the single bench/bar to bucket seats when they upgraded it a few years ago and I...

$67 a night for Castle Inn & Suites Nov 15-17!

I noticed the Tripadvisor reviews since the remodel was completed have been a lot better than before. We're still trying to make up on our minds where to stay. Since we bought AP's we're probably flying this time around since our Disney tix are already covered. How slow was the WiFi...
